love my Ava
I've had this guitar for two years, now...
get some good strings and a decent practice sized amp...and this guitar will be very, very good to you...
There was a time when I was concerned that I'd have to upgrade sooner than I'd like...however it ended up being my amp that needed upgrading, NOT the guitar at all...
construction-wise, nearly perfect...there are a couple of "in the hospital" (because they're not dead) frets, the guy above who mentioned the nut where the amp chord plugs in gets loose at times is also correct in that...but you know what? A couple (literally two) frets out of 132 really isn't bad...at all...especially for the sound you get for this price
so in conclusion, this is a great guitar...I play it all with it...blues, classic rock, old-school punk...GnR and Tool...this peg fits ALL holes

Good for Beginners
This black and chrome squier strat was my first guitar. Overall it's great for beginners, although not for serious guitarists.
First thing I notied was build quality. I wish they had put 3 springs on the floating bridge and not just 2. However, the rest of it is pretty sturdy and should last a while. The plug for the amp cord can come loose sometimes, but that's no big problem. Much better than the affinity model.
This guitar has the classic strat sound. I can always find the tone I'm looking for. Clean sounds good, and distortion is good, but for serious distortion you might consider the humbucker model, the fat strat.
It has the strat feel so it's very comfortable to play. It doesn't have any real problems that are going to get in the way of a beginner or intermediate player, but perhaps as one advances one will want a nicer instrument.
In conclusion, this is a great beginner guitar. It will last a long time, and it will still serve you well as a backup later on.

Great Guitar
I've had this guitar for about six monthes now and i love it! It sounds great distorted and good on clean as well. The mirror pickguard looks wicked cool but my only complaint about this guitar would have to be that the pickguard gets smudged up really easily and looks foggy. So get this guitar and take good care of it and you'll have a fine axe.

Fantastic Buy & Guitar
I've owned this Strat for a while now - it was my first guitar, though definately not my last.
Great buy and great sound - easily stays in tune and has a crystal-clear sound. One of the only problems was that my lower-E string was unnaturally buzzy compared to other guitars I've played, but somehow I bet that was my fault somewhere.
Thanks Fender!

Great axe for the price!!
If you are looking for a great guitar for not a lot of money, this is one axe worth a good, hard look. I played a bunch of Strats before buying, and couldn't come up with a reason to spend about twice as much for a Mexican Strat. For my abilities (or lack thereof!), I thought this little Squier Strat played and sounded as good as the MIM Strat did.

Good Guitar
It plays really well, I've had this guitar for about 3 week now and I LOVE it. I have a Marshal MS-2 amp for really cheap and it plays amazingly.
I recommend this guitar.

Amazing guitar, Amazing price
I got this 3 months ago, and I'm just impressed. I got it for $130 and its got good playability, and it may not have fender quality sound but it's as close as you can get. It's the qualtiy of a good stratocaster, and is one of the few guitars that are very snazzy, yet are easy to play and make a qualtiy sound. Mine tends to go out of tune frequently, but i blame global warming =)

Unbelievable for the price!
This guitar is awesome!, it sounds amazing for the price, and the attention to detail is obvious. The black headstock is unique, and the hardware is excellent. If your looking for a quality instrument for a lean price, look no further!
