A full-blown, weeping, screaming, rocking Strat with a phenomenal price tag.

The Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster Electric Guitar has a proud heritage and a sweet price, representing the best value in solid-body electric guitar design. The contoured solid alder body is the same world-renowned style that fueled the fires of Hendrix, Clapton, SRV, and thousands more. The Affinity Series Stratocaster features a bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Pure vintage tone comes pounding out of 3 biting single-coil pickups, taking on flavor from a classic rocking tremolo and 5-way switching. Genuine die-cast tuners provide unprecedented tuning stability in this price range. The headstock is the classic '70s "big" style. The maple neck plays fast and feels great. When you trade up, your Affinity Series Strat will be worth far more than any no-name copy.

  • No better start

As reviewed by Dan Armstrong on 2/2/2014

So I've had my guitar for 3 years once we hit March and I bought this guitar with a starter pack USED off of Craig's list. I just used it live last Sunday and to be honest, there really isn't much room to improve. I have this guitar and a Yamaha FG730s acoustic and I am looking into buying a new guitar soon. This guitar has made me like stratocasters so much that i start to look towards PRSs then Gibson and i just shake my head and go back to Fender. I you don't really know what type of music you are going to be playing, then this guitar is great because it(strats) can be seen onstage in almost any genre. True, the output jack gets loose occasionally, its not very high quality, and whatever you want to say about it, but for the first electric guitar you are going to get, this is absolutely perfect.

  • Big Time Bang For the Buck

As reviewed by Tim M on 3/18/2012

I have never been big on spending a ton of money on my guitars, but I research them a ton and this guitar has the exact same same specs as the American Strats except for the electronics. That being said, I took this guitar and played it side by side with American and Mexican made strats and I like the way the neck feels on this guitar the best. The tone is warm and gorgeous and it plays incredibly. The only change I am going to make is an upgrade to the pickups to Tex Mex single coils which come standard on Jimmy Vaughn's strat. I paid 109.00 for the guitar and will pay 79.99 for the pickups and it will be the best money I will ever spend on my passion. Go For It!!!

  • WOW

As reviewed by Adam Liebman on 4/15/2013

I bought this guitar almost 5 years ago and it still plays great! I strongly recommend this to anybody who's looking for a great starter guitar that will last a long time. Fender did a great job on a great guitar at an affordable price. Wow.
