As part of Spitfire' ongoing partnership with session stalwart Andy Findon, here is the next installment of Andy' "kit bag" with five great new instruments, recorded on our dry stage in Spitfire' popular 'artisan' style of sampling.
In the purpose built dry environment in London's Kings Cross, this next selection of flutes continues in this tradition performance-led virtual instruments that spring out of the box, full of personality and can be used on a wide range of products.
Andy's Kit Bag features five seminal instruments recorded with vibrato control, "artisan" style longs, slides, and other idiomatic articulations, and is presented with articulation specific key switch patches and the awesome "performance" patches that analyze your playing style to conjoin with Andy's passionate approach to playing these instruments.
Andy has used his years of experience playing on many of the biggest movies and TV series through the years to offer up a stylistic approach not designed to educate on the geographical or historical nature of these fine instruments but instead to add color and tincture to your recordings. Included in this collection are another 5 of his most requested gems from his endless collection of curiosities: Banbury, Quena, Chinese Membrane Flute, Low Ocarina and the beguiling Low Pan Pipes.
Andy's Kit Bag is part of the "Producer's Portfolio". Recorded in a dry environment with a number of different mics, to give a raw set of building blocks to become the DNA of your future compositions. It joins a selection of studio essentials including an amazing selection of exotic percussion by Inder Goldfinger and the hit "Evo Grid" series.
Andy' background of mixed musical experience has led to an incredibly diverse career. Having trained as an orchestral flautist, as principal flute of the National Youth Orchestra in the early 1970s and 3 years at the Royal College of Music, he soon branched out into the London musical scene, from dance band dates (working for Nat Temple, Joe Loss, Eric Delaney & Sidney Lipton among others) to Ballet Rambert, taking in The National Theatre and the formation of the Myhra Saxophone Quartet with John Harle.
