My Boyfriend bought this system for me. I had never heard of it before. I LOVE IT! I sing at a restaurant and I am telling you, I sound 10 times better with the Gig rack! lol. It is crystal clear and I love all of the effects. The echo choices are great. I will NEVER use another Mixer/amp. I am trying to talk my Man into getting me a few more just in case something happens to this one! TRUST me. This s great!
We brought this little guy to a room that was supposed to be for 100. We got there it was a sold out room that held over 300. We put this thing through a big work out that night. it ran our monitors and the house. We tend to be tough on equipment and the design of this unit makes it pretty much indestructable by our standard. I am purchasing a second one.
Not too shabby.I was deciding between this and the Behringer. After hearing them side by side, I was sold on the GigRac!It's portable and the quality is great! When I got home I ran it through my speakers from my Bose 802 III's to my JBL MR 925 and JBL SR4735A's.300w x 2 SOUNDS like 300w x 2.The other mixer I tried in store had MORE features, but not things I would actually use in a show. The sound quality of the GigRac was distinctively better.
This worked great for me for about a year, and then the internal fan would go haywire, and there was no output sound. The Thing just died. I wouldn't mind if it had took any abuse, but it was well looked-after!! Even if it happened a couple of weeks ago, before the warranty expired, I would still have had to pay postage out of my own pocket!!
The Gigrac is a big winner in my book. This is the ideal powered mixer for small to meduim sized clubs, churches, etc. The 2x300 amps are deceiving, as the power is exceptionally clean. The amps are rated 300 watts into 4 ohms, or 220 watts into 8 ohms. Sounds more like 500 watts. The channel strips have a distinct "British" sound, and are very easy to use. Just make sure you don't over-EQ. This is very different than most powered mixers, where you need to use the channel strip EQ to offset the poor sound quality. It sounds exceptional, so little EQ is necessary. The effects, even though limited to eight, are very useful, and extremely musical. No filler here, just the good stuff. Of all the powered mixers I've owned or used, the Gigrac is by far the best sounding, and easiest to use. The only drawback is the Gigrac sounds so good it will really bring out any deficiencies in your speaker cabinets!!
