Here's a sturdy double-braced cymbal stand that won't kill your budget, from Sound Percussion.

well about a week ago my old stand just broke so today i went and bought two of these and a new boom stand for a gig tonight i just got back from the gig and all i can say is wow this stand rocks i have an 18" crash on one and a 12" china on the other on i love the look and its stonge no bad things about it and the price u cant go worng if your looking for a stand this is the one
I hve learned alot about, pedals, and hardware since i started playing, and i am only 6 months in with my own kit, but i'll tell you that you wont get any better value then sound percussion double braced straight and boom stands, the straight stand holds my 20" a custom ride with ease ad i expect it to do the same with my future 22 inch zildjian k dark medium ride. I have all SP double braced stands, they are tough, sturdy, and very affordable, i recomend this stand with full confidence i have everytime i play on my cymbals knowing they arent going to be tipping over with my hard hitting
I needed a cheap stand to hold my zildjian 16' crash, and while other sound percussion stands may be awsome, this one was fine for about 2 months, then one day when i ajusted it, by raising the height a little, it snapped, and broke completely. do not buy this stand. if you are gonna buy a sound percussion stand, buy the double braced boom stand.
