I've got to say, after going through two or three stands, I know I've got a good one here with the Sound Percussion SP880SS. I pulled it out of the box and immediately set it to the way I like it. The hardware didn't fight with me, my snare drum fits snugly, and it doesn't wobble. If you need a great stand for cheap, this one's the one to go for.

best snare stand for the money.

By Doug Meyer

from New Orleans, Louisiana

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880SS Double-Braced Snare Stand:

At my high school, we use this stand for a marching snare stand and it has no problems at all handling the 14 pound marching snare. We have also used it for regular snares and it has been rock solid for about 5 years now. Best snare stand i've ever encountered.

Pasadena store's Drum department

By DAVID MONIZ

from Pasadena, Ca

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880SS Double-Braced Snare Stand:

Just purchased theses snare stands for the mapex picolo on sale, what a deal. The staff has been great helping and making suggestions along the way. All experts in their field, it has been a pleasure doing my shopping at this store, and was able to get the staff to set up a set for me (LEFT)handed. Got a Gretsch Energy shell pack, and was amazed and the sound and response when I played it, the cymbals are Bsr Sabian, and that sounds good as well, 13in HH, 18in Ride. Staff is the best. Happy Holidays!!!!! GC Pasadena

good inexpensive stand

By charles mcgirk

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880SS Double-Braced Snare Stand:

I have not had any problems with this product myself---a metal drummer friend of mine played my kit recently and it did drop down when he really got wound up, but a $5 memory lock fixed that problem! I use this mostly for my practice snare, as it is much lighter than than my other stand, and I drag it from room to room on a daily basis. I can't say how it would hold to heavy gigging, but I have used mine nearly every day for 6 months, and everything works just fine. Overall this is a great looking, well built stand, and I would buy another one without hesitation!

Doesn't hold...

By Themusicman

from Milpitas, Ca

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880SS Double-Braced Snare Stand:

This snare stand does not hold at all, save your money and buy another stand, or if you are cheap like me, buy a lock, that's the only way it will hold.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL

By Eric

from Blue Springs, Missouri

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880SS Double-Braced Snare Stand:

The title says it all. So I bought this new two months ago and today when I was loosening it to bring it down the screw broke right in half I would recommend spending a few more bucks and buy something better.

Nice Stand

By Scott

from CA

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880SS Double-Braced Snare Stand:

A very nice stand! The base is very stable and all of the adjustments seem to hold well. This stand will also hold a 10" drum without the extra "shims" that some snare stands require. I have two of these stands.

I swear by this stand.

By Dylan Eggert

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880SS Double-Braced Snare Stand:

Dude. This is my favorite snare stand. I would pay the DW or Gilbralter price for it...Luckily, I don't have to. I use one for my snare drum and another for my rack tom. It works perfect for both. The long rubber ends ensure that your drum won't slip off onto the metal and crate that horrible sound. I have used these stands for over a year for recording and heavy touring.

Eh... Save up for a better brand

By Jordan

from TX

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880SS Double-Braced Snare Stand:

I have had this stand for about a year. Just today I got back from a jazz gig and pull this stand out. Set it up. Put my snare on and BAM. Broke down right then in there and now im making a trip up to GC get a better quality. If you're wanting it for a year then this is you're best thing. If you want something a that will last you longer try going for a Pearl, DW, Yamaha, or Gibralter.

Good stand, at Affordable Price

By Troy

from Bethlehem, PA

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880SS Double-Braced Snare Stand:

I recently bought a new PDP 10x6 Blackout snare(which sounds amazing) and needed a new snare stand, and wasn't really wanting to spend a lot of money. I bought this stand because I was happy with my other sound percussion hardware and was very surprised when it turned out to be extremely nice. It's well built and sturdy and cradles my smaller snare perfectly. I would recomend this to anyone.
