Wow this is a great cymbal stand. This stand is really really sturdy. I have a 18" Zildjian oriental china on it with the boom all the way out and it is so sturdy. I like to play hard and the stand hasnt let me down. Ive had the stand for probably almost a year now and it is still in the condition i got it. It has never tipped or any thing like that. The double braced stand is so sturdy. great for mounting heavy cymbals. I love having a stand where i dont have to worry about it tipping over no matter what i put on it. Great cymbal stand. Highly recommended. Great Buy.

I just purchased this stand a few days ago and I gotta admit, I'm slightly dissapointed with it. This stand really needs a memory lock of some kind for the boom arm. Since it doesn't have one you have to really crank the wing nuts for the boom arm to stay in place. However, for a double braced cymbal boom stand, you really can't beat the price. But just so you know you get what you pay for with this cymbal stand.

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:

Such a basic cymbal but heavy duty and works with anything. Mine can hold a china and a splash with no problem and even a ride cymbal easily. Sucks though that they stopped making them...

Good but not Great

By Chris Hanson

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:

I bought this stand for my 20" Z Custom Ride and incase you aren't familiar with that kind of ride, It is a really heavy duty kind of ride, very thick, so when buying this stand i was quite skeptical about how it would hold up and i've had it for about a year now and it's worked very well, but there are 2 little problems, over time the boom arm would slowly begin to lean into toward my drum set more and more but nothing retightening it in place can't fix for awhile, and the screws are quite small so they hurt your hands a bit if you plan on tightening them REAL tight, but other than that, it's a nice stand overall, lowers just enough to my liking and better yet, can actually hold the cymbal intended for it!

It's Invincible!

By JERMEY RUSSELL

from Edmond, Oklahoma

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:

I use these for all of my Zildjian cymbals, and you can mount toms on these and no matter how far out its mounted, no matter how heavy or bulky the object you mount on it, it won't break, or fall over, and they will mount anything at any angle, even upside down! It also is stays together when traveling, so the bumpy roads won't even scratch it! Way to go Sound Percussion! Don't waist your money on something else. This thing may be cheap, but it's worth more than any other stand I've ever owned! Get it, it will last you a lifetime!

Scratches

By Daniel Torres

from Munster IN

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:

This cymbal was one of most affordable stands i could get and the fact It looks really good. IT hold my rides and crashes very well and they don't tip. The only thing i don't like about it is the fact it only has 2 tubes in so you can't raise it higher commpared to most stands, also the fact I don't know if any of you people had this problem but when i adjust the tubes on my stand rings form around the tube scratching it. I was kinda dissapointed that scratches started to form. I'm not sure if any of you people had this problem but I'm not going to be A butt about it and give it a 3 or 2 or 1 star. I mean it does its job, maybe this problem only happened to me. But If does its job thats what I care so scratches or no Scratches I give this a 5 star

Cheap hardware? Not exactly . . .

By Conner Lathem

from Fort Worth, Texas

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:

My drum kit only came with one standard cymbal stand. So of course, if I wanted to add a ride and a second crash to my setup, I was going to have to buy more stands. I could've bought the normal SP cymbal stand, but I figured that a boom stand would be more than worth the extra cash you pay. Well I must say, I'm thrilled with this product. It is very sturdy, and I've actually TRIED to play hard enough to knock this stand over, but it just wouldn't budge. The fact that the boom extension slides into the main part of the stand also makes it easier to store than your average boom stand. As a matter of fact, when I took this thing out of the box, I at first thought that I'd received a normal stand! Sound Percussion has given us a great piece of hardware that does it's job well. You may get something much better from other companies, but there is certainly nothing wrong with this product. I have no complaints.

Amazed by this stand!

By Alex

from Central Illinois

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:

I was very lucky and found this stand about six months ago in used, but perfectly good condition at a local music store. I must say, it's the best moeny I've ever spent for my set. This was worth every penny, and definitely worth more than what I paid for. I've never had any problems adjusting it, and it's been super sturdy. The quality is just as good as I would expect from something in a higher price range. It holds my 16" Zildjian A Custom crash, and I also have a Sound Percussion single tom mount attached to it, which is holding my 12" rack tom (that is actually kind of heavy). The stand has no problem holding up at all. I really like that it converts from a boom stand into a straight stand. You can easily switch to whatever your kit calls for. Overall, a great stand for a great price!

Incredible!

By Trace

from Sacramento, California

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:

This stand is very sturdy and can hold pretty much any cymbal you want to put on it. I use it for a 22" ride and because of the wide base it still doesn't tip over. Sound percussion may not make incredible drums, but they do a pretty good job on their cymbal stands.

Great stand

By Corey

from Spokane, wa

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:

For the money you pay it's a great stand. Not probably durable and heavy enough for some serious transporting or heavy hitting. For me, only playing in one place, it's great. I am using it with my Meinhl 16" crash and it works great!

SWEET DEAL !!!

By Josh from FESTER

from Ferndale , MI

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs SP880BS Double-Braced Boom Stand:

I went to GC in Southfield , MI to get a Z3 18 in ROCK CRASH and planned on getting a Gibraltar flat-base , old school cymbal stand to go with it , but they didn't have any there , so I went with the Sound Percussion straight/boom instead . The price is beautiful and it's sturdy as I'll ever need . Paying more for something like a stand , to me is a waste - I'd rather put that money toward top line cymbals or shells . I don't care about who's name is on my stands as long as they look decent , hold my stuff in place well , and don't fall apart anytime soon . I've got NO complaints . So far so good ,and I don't see anything but reliability from these stands . Gonna get the double boom pack next , to replace and match with all SP stands .
