I just recieved my multi rod sticks in the mail two weeks ago. They are great for practice and playing in quiet situations for events (or in church like me). They have the weight of about a 5A or 7A stick with a good rebound also. Only down-fall is that from the first day just one stick out of the pair has been rebellious and the rods tend to slip out which causes the other ones to shift in the rubber grip. However, when working properly, the feel, grip and sound is great! I will buy again.

I bought these for quiet gigs like weddings, this is the second pair I have bought and both pairs have rods separating and start extending beyond the tip. Every 2-3 songs you have to push them back in and there is no way to tape them or stop this from happening. They are durable and don't dent or splinter as fast as others I have tried but I'll be trying a different manufacturer for my next purchase.

Sound Percussion Suprise

By Kyle

from New York

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

I got these sticks so I could play without a drum set and still get a cool clicking sound. Also, there were some at marching band in school and it was love at first sight. These aren't as big, but I don't mind. I play pretty hard, and yet they hold together, even when I thought they would snap instantly. They are good on the set, too, but I don't play jazz, I play mostly rock. I have yet to use them in my band Off City Limits, or in the studio, but they are fun, and sound great. Not what expected from sound percussion. Good Job.

Great For Control

By Brandon Turner

from alpharetta, ga

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

I use these at home with my practice kit mainly for volume control, but I am finding that I can get some great textures with them. The rods do come loose after some wild playing so I have to pat them back into position from time to time. Other than that I like them and will keep them around.

Works for sounds control, but not durable enough!!

By KV

from South Portland, ME

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

These are nice for a lighter sound when sticks are too heavy, but they don't last! I had mine for a couple of practices before I had to throw them out because about 1/3 of the individual rods broke and the rubber hand grip on one of them came off.

Not worth the savings

By Dave C

from Irvine, CA

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

Like anyone else I was tempted by the price. Within 100 stokes the rods started releasing and I'm talking rather light stick work. I figured this must be a fluke and tried again but the same thing happened.

You Get What you Pay For

By Chad Thomas

from Goldsboro, NC

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

Within the First day there were errors. Now I mind you that by first day I mean just playing a few times to try them out. I played It's Dangerous Business Walking out your Front Door by UnderOath, but regardless of the style they should have held up. Our Church has "Hot rods" and I have played heavier styles with them and after 8 months one of them had too many rods break. With the SoundPercussion MultiRods I had to keep pushing them in and the bottom slides right off. If you Purchase these you have my word you will be disappointed. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and they let me down. I guess for the cheap price you get what you pay for.

Fell Apart at First Gig

By CODrummer

from Boulder, CO

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

I bought these because they are quite a bit cheaper than the similar Vic Firth models, and at the first show I used them at all the rods started sliding out of the handle. I was playing a rock show, at a quieter volume, where the Vic Firths had no problem holding up. All in all, I guess I got what I payed for, but they don't last past a single 3 hour show.

Nice change of sound

By Will

from Mastic Beach NY

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

These sticks are super cool. They have a different sound then solid sticks and are soft enough to play with my buddies with their acoustic guitars. The only down side that I have noticed is a tendency for the middle sticks to start to come out when really jammin on them. No big deal just a couple whacks on the ground and they are ready to crank again.

Not the best, but they get the job done.

By Josh Scott

from Greensboro, NC

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

I bought a pair of these sticks about a year ago to play with my church worship band because normal sticks were too loud. They worked pretty good for a few months until the rubber tip at the end ripped and the rods began to slide out of the grip. I had to wrap tape around the tip and slide the rods back into place every few songs, but overall, they lasted a year and I was happy with them. However today, I bought another pair from Guitar Center hoping that I would be as satisfied again with these sticks. I was wrong. About 15 minutes into practice, half of the rods in one of the sticks slid out a few inches and I could not push them back in. I immediately went back to Guitar Center and they fortunately let me switch them out, and for a few dollars more I bought a pair of Pro-mark Hot Rods.

Junk

By BLD

from Clevelans

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

I bought these because I needed to have a pair for my church service the next day. The GC was out of the Pro Mark Hot Rods that I use regularly. I decided to give these a try. What a mistake. The rods kept sliding out of the stick. I was pretty disappointed with this. I thought it may have been a bad pair, but after reading the reviews, I must say that Sound Percussion should be made aware of this, and get the problem resolved.

Horrible Grip.

By Israel

from Miami,Fl

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

One day the service at my church was moved to a much smaller temple at my church and the drum set there had no sound shield. So I took out these rods that I had but never used because I never came upon a time that I needed it. But at that moment that I needed it , it failed me. Every Minute I had to play with 1 hand and the other hand was to press the grip against my leg for it will go back into place because it kept on coming out, I did the same with the other rod. The wood is OK however the grip just ruined it.

Great but some regets

By Isabella

from CA,Riverside

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

i (personally) love these sticks, but like many of drumers i am unaware of the sound waves that are supposed to come out, mostly because these are my first pair of any kind of multi-rods,im not sure if there are loud enough but,of course thats the purpose of them. You are supposed to repace these every now and then,so don't complain if they start to break,(well, you are pounding them in to metal, every time you play soo... what do you expect?)They are the weight of a good 5A hickory stick and easy enough to have a pretty good rebound. Overall i suggest any one to buy these sticks (only if you want to play a good slow song with a asome beat, not suggested for drumers who are know to go crazy.) there a great buy for dumers who have a budget.

......no comment.......

By Max

from Gresham, OR

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

I don't own these, but my drum teacher bought them when he was in a hurry. He used them that day, they seemed fine. Next week, they completely fell apart. The didn't hold at all. I had to go out and buy my own rods. My advice: Stay away from anything made by sound percussion.

Uhmmm OK

By Marvin Wood

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

So, I do play these...and they do come apart. I'm removing the black base cap and going to apply a bit of Elmer's Glue there. That should make these solid performers.

WORST RODS EVER!

By Patrick

from Charleston S.C.

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

Features: zero! Horrible quality. NO reliability. The very first time these "rods" were used they just came apart! The "toothpick" thin rods felt like playing with uncooked spaghetti noodles. The material? used to keep them together did not hold. In fact, it came off with a quickness. What a waste of money and to top it off what a nightmare trying to get them once they were delivered to my Local store. These things should not exist!

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

I keep thinking these guys are going to get their product together, but shame on me. This is the third pair that I've had and ALL start falling apart within a few songs. I don't play them hard or incorrectly; they're just poorly put together. If they could use some sort of powerful glue to keep the rods intact, that might change my mind. As it stands now, after every song, and even during songs, I have to pound the dowels back into place with a real drumstick. Awful!

You Pay What You Get for

          By Mario

          from New Jersey

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

For the price for these sticks they are great. Don't expect some super durable, excellent sounding sticks. I read in other reviews that people were saying that they broke,. They also noted that they had the sticks for a couple of years.Of course over a couple of years the sticks are going to become less durable. Once again dont expect some super durable sticks. I recommend these sticks for someone with sisters or brothers in the house that complain from loud noises. these sticks greatly reduce the volume of your set. prefect for small gigs too
