I just recieved my multi rod sticks in the mail two weeks ago. They are great for practice and playing in quiet situations for events (or in church like me). They have the weight of about a 5A or 7A stick with a good rebound also. Only down-fall is that from the first day just one stick out of the pair has been rebellious and the rods tend to slip out which causes the other ones to shift in the rubber grip. However, when working properly, the feel, grip and sound is great! I will buy again.

I bought these for quiet gigs like weddings, this is the second pair I have bought and both pairs have rods separating and start extending beyond the tip. Every 2-3 songs you have to push them back in and there is no way to tape them or stop this from happening. They are durable and don't dent or splinter as fast as others I have tried but I'll be trying a different manufacturer for my next purchase.

I am now on my second pair of these. Each time the sticks slip out of the sleeve. I have used them each only once for practice. I cannot get a full hour of playing time out these things (No we are NOT playing loud).

Love them. Used them at my old church. Although we didn't do that many songs that you could use them they're pretty fun to just play around with too

            WORST RODS EVER!

            By Patrick

            from Charleston S.C.

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

Features: zero! Horrible quality. NO reliability. The very first time these "rods" were used they just came apart! The "toothpick" thin rods felt like playing with uncooked spaghetti noodles. The material? used to keep them together did not hold. In fact, it came off with a quickness. What a waste of money and to top it off what a nightmare trying to get them once they were delivered to my Local store. These things should not exist!

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

I bought these sticks to replace a set that I used until they started to splinter. I got these and used them through one rehearsal and they came apart. I have decided to go back to the Promark Multirod, because they at least stay together.

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

Sorry guys but these rods suck! They became useless in the first 10 mins of moderate playing. Do yourself a favor and invest in either hot rods or lightning rods.

                Do not buy

                By Jacob Segall

                from Detroit, MI

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

I use sound percussions stands, but with hot rods spend the extra couple bucks and get the name brand. These don't have same rebound, don't have the tonal qualities you're looking for, and they come apart easily. I bought a set of these (for not much less than the name brands) and they started coming apart during my first use! While the brand name hot rods might chip away over time these have entire sticks flying out of the bundle during play (and I don't play hard, especially when I use hot rods). Also, the sheath/tape holding the bundle together slips off while you play too. Again, these aren't issues I had after playing with these hot rods for a while, but during my first use. Don't buy them.

So, I do play these...and they do come apart. I'm removing the black base cap and going to apply a bit of Elmer's Glue there. That should make these solid performers.

Maybe I got a bad batch?

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

Sound, control, etc.; all there. Maybe I was unlucky, but mine keep losing the rods from the bundle as if not tight. I can push them in of course, but they end up protruding about two inches after about a song. No, I'm not expecting them to accept heavy metal punishment. Perhaps quality control is an issue? All I'd say is check the ones you buy, and as such, has not put me off trying another set. I am sure GC would warranty them (it happened immediately), but I will probably wear them out before getting back to the store.

                ......no comment.......

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Multi Rods:

I don't own these, but my drum teacher bought them when he was in a hurry. He used them that day, they seemed fine. Next week, they completely fell apart. The didn't hold at all. I had to go out and buy my own rods. My advice: Stay away from anything made by sound percussion.
