If you hit your drums like a fairy, these sticks are for you. If you are a normal person, DO NOT BUY. I bought 4 pairs of these about a week ago, and they are all broken. Complete garbage. Spend the extra money on some Vic Firths. Do yourself a favor. It's worth the extra cash. I wouldn't use these sticks to scrape fecal matter off the toilet bowl.

Good Drumsticks!

By Jeroni Burt _

from Arlington, TX

These drumsticks are bad in a good way. Like everyone who plays drums we have had experiences with various drumsticks. The Funk model I purchased is a pretty balanced and well made product. I can really dig into the drums or play with finesse and like any other brand stick you have options (however somewhat limited). Bottom line if you are very particular about your drumsticks name then stick to them. However if you need a pretty versatile stick and have an open mind, then the funk model fits the bill regardless of the Name or Cost.

Stick for Stick they rock

By Freddy Muffrelman

from hollywood, ca

i bought a brick of these bad boys quite some time ago. I still have many of them. loved the feel, durability-OUTRAGEOUS-they've lasted longer than many of my other name brand sticks. i used to break too many sticks in the beginning of learning, loved the feel of the regular nylon tip or natural from regal tip; just that neck on the original RTs suck. So i went to guitar center and they had bricks of Sound Percussion natural tip 5B's. That was about 4-5 years ago, when i practice and get into my hours long zones i definitely use the Sound Percussion. Feel: players discretion-to me they are lighter than most-yet beefy when in hand and in sound. Durability: Well, 4-5 years later still have many SP's 5B sticks in my bag... so the day my favorite stick brand RT stops making X-series, guess who i'm going to?????????

Professional Grade, Budget Price

By Dave Wiese

from Milwaukee, WI

These sticks are made by Vader, which many drummers I know swear by. I use the 5B wood tip for my electric kit, and they are PHENOMINAL!! Admittedly, I am just starting on drums, but have been an active bass player for 20 years, and I've heard all the frustrations over the years from many drummers over other sticks, especially Zildjian. I've never heard any complaints of the SP's from any of my drummers who have actually used them, other than the taper by the tip is slightly narrower than an actual Vader. My current drummer uses these, and they last just as long as the Vaders he was using before (and he's a hard-and-fast punk drummer). We haven't come across a bad one yet. Can't beat the quality for this, or any other price.

Nice Sticks!

By Briley Hearrin

from Sebree, KY

I bought a 5A and 7A pair of these sticks recently, and they are awesome, especially for the price. They were matched perfectly, looked awesome, and felt as good as the sticks that cost a couple times more.

Sticks are Sticks, and these are the best!

By Joshua Strong

from Taylorsville

People need to realize that a stick is a stick. They are all made from the same type of wood, American Hickory. These literally WILL be as durable as your favorite Vic Firth or Promark stick, because they are made from the same materials. I've used the 5A nylons, the funks, and the rocks, and so far, I have yet to break a pair; I've only broken one of the nylon tips on a pair of the 5A's (I have three). The best thing about these sticks is the price. You can get three pairs of these sticks for almost the same price as one pair of sticks from another brand. The only true downside to these sticks is that a picky person might not be able to find the right size, as there are only 9 models. Regardless, there is still a good variety, and I don't see any reason why one couldn't settle with a stick that has attributes close to what he/she normally prefers. I'd definitely suggest giving these sticks a shot!

Don't be fooled by the small price

By Conner Lathem

from Fort Worth, Texas

I've used Vic Firth, Regal Tip, Vater, and Zildjian drum sticks, and these Sound Percussion sticks are fantastic! They are straight, evenly weighted, and seemingly flawless. Not what you'd expect from a cheap pair of sticks at all. I had a pair of 5A sticks, and they were great (they never did break), but they were just a tiny bit heavier than Vic Firth sticks. I got a pair of 7A's and that fixed the problem. Plus, the nylon tips are really nice and they sound good on my ride. The only sticks I enjoy using more than these are the Zildjian green maple dip sticks, which are very light and have that fantastic non-slip surface. Unfortunately, maple sticks are flimsy and break too quickly, and it's hard to buy sticks that cost nine dollars every other day. These Sound Percussion sticks may be heavier, but they are cheap and durable, and that's a big red HECK YES for the drummer on a budget. Five stars for another great product from SP.

Durrable

By Josh Makieve

from Rocklin, CA

They seem to play almost as well as the Vic Firth sticks that I bought, but they seem to be much more durable... seeing as they haven't broken yet.

WHOA !! What an awesome value !

By Lee Hebert

from San Diego, CA

I had been using Vic Firth but I thought I would give SP a try to save on cash. What a surprise!! I bought a 6-pack of 5BN's (nylon tips) on sale at GC. All were perfectly lathed ....not wobbly. The pairs were well matched. The wood had obviously been carefully selected ....there were no weird knots or rotted-out or diseased grains like you would find in the usual 'bargain-bin' sticks. The nylon tips NEVER come off. I hit the edges of my cymbals quite a bit but still, they have lasted quite a while. Highly recommended!!

Awesome!

By Precious Smith

I'm a beginning drummer so I use the 5A drumstick. These are great even compared to the more expensive brand.
