Overview

Sound Percussion prides itself on delivering top notch equipment at a working musician's price. This SP770DPC double bass pedal set is no exception, offering a durable single-chain drive, and consistent double-bass rumble at less than you might think. Plus, you'll also get a hi-hat drop clutch so you can keep the hi-hats clamped while you pound 32nd notes on the kick drums.

This hi-hat clutch functions like a snare throw-off. Disengage and drop the top cymbal by hitting the clutch with a drum stick. Step on the pedal and the clutch attaches itself at its original position.

This pedal does not fail to satisfy me, its great, smooth and easy to use, not only that, it can match up to the quality of other expensive pedals. For a pedal like this with the low price, thats something you can't resist if your a beginner/intermediate level. Overall this is a pedal thats worth buying, it will not let you down.

This was an awful pedal. I was able to use it for roughly a month, before two of the screws somehow stripped themselves. One on the spring on the main pedal, and one that holds the two together. I play professionally, and figured this would be a nice upgrade instead of having to do rolls on one foot. - The right footboard slowly lost tension during every session, the left footboard, after the locking screw stripped, would randomly fall out (The bar that connects the pedals.) - Playing a show, kicking the right footboard for projection cause the beater to come loose on the bar itself, so the pedal was flat to the ground. -Another issue I had was the pedal hardly extended far enough to even reach around my snare, causing a very cramped feel to my kit. Overall, this pedal has been nothing but a problem and an embarrassment. Probably okay for a starter pedal, but for anyone looking to play seriously, I wouldn't recommend it.

2 stars....0ne for each pedal

By mike drena

from east hartford ct.

you get what you pay for....they look ok, are built so so, but after about a month of hard playing, both adjusting screws for height popped off( not at same time) and ended up stripping....i tossed the stripped ones and got pedals working again by using some old drum hoop lugs that were a little wider than original screws...

Great beginner Pedals

By Paul Moore

from Arkansas

when i was first starting double bass i got these pedals. It a chain drive so it lagged behind a bit which isn't a major problem, but it was annoying trying to do Hardcore grinds and bursts. When I took these pedals out of the box i was amazed how durable and heavy they were, and the chain is durable as well. It is a really good set of beginner pedals, but if you plan on doing heavy music these wont respond flawlessly. They are worth the price though!

OKAY at first....

By Riley Hardin

from Georgetown, Texas

I got this pedal about 2 years ago for christmas. and at first i thought it was the best thing ever. but after about a year the knobs that let you adjust the springs started to just unwind and fall off, then the bar connecting the pedals just decided to break one day. this pedal is good if you are on a HUGE budget and a first time double bass player other than that this bass pedal SUCKS

Not Bad But Not The Best

By Fill In The Blank

from Indianapolis IN

I got these for christmas and they aren't too bad. They do in a pinch. Can't go extremely fast but you can somewhat. Every once in a while, a beater will fly out (which is a flaw) and the screw that tightens it will come loose but you just have to tighted it back up, put the beater back on and you'll be alright. The clutch is OK at best. I would get a better clutch though if I were you. I don't like how the second pedal (which is the one that extends out) tends to slide when you use it. It doesn't really stand its ground unless if you get something put on it for it not to do that. This pedal is only for beginners. I plan on uprading soon. Even if you are an amatuer, don't buy these, get a DW 3000 pedal or something. You will be much happier with that. But if this is the first time you have ever wanted to buy a double pedal, this will be a good starter. not band but definitely not the best.

Ehhh...

By Ryan Boger

from Auburn, Indiana

I got this for Christmas. Came with no instructions what so ever BUT..it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put it together sooo yeah. I like the smoothness & the ability to have a reliable double bass pedal at an inexpensive find. Beginners or even intermediates should give it a go. The beaters usually need more adjustmen so they are stable when playing. Other than that, its good.

Great deal for the money!

By Kyle

from San Antonio

I've owned these pedals for about 6 months now and they've held up really well. They're sturdy, quick in response, and easy to adjust. As another review stated, no instructions come with the pedals but it's not hard to figure out the setup. I was also surprised because I received SP pedals that didn't have the art design on them, like how the picture shows. I'm okay with that, though, since the design is a little weird. I'm happy with these pedals and I would recommend buying these over other cheap brands any day.
