Sound Percussion Labs Drum Mute (103849832)
Availability:

Practice at night, what a thought.

Most drummers have experienced the problem of practicing in apartments or late at night. Drums are loud and penetrating but Sound Percussion's Mutes quiet the sound, yet retain the feel of the drum itself.

Sound Percussion Drum Mutes are constructed of an ultra-thin material that closely approximates the feel and touch of a stick hitting a drum head. Immediately, drummers will notice a vast improvement over existing mutes and the makeshift use of towels, tape, and blankets. They are a breeze to get up and ready. They install and remove in seconds, just place them on the surface and play.

Sound Percussion Labs Drum Mute Features:

  • Quiets the sound
Retains the natural feel of the drum
    Constructed of an ultra-thin material

  • Works Great!

As reviewed by Steve on 3/26/2009

These pads do just what they are supposed to do, quiet down the drums. While they don't totally silence the sound, they do significantly reduce it. You won't get enough stick rebound to do any fast double stroke rolls or anything, but there's enough there that it still feels like your playing a drum. Great product.

  • Poor Grip

As reviewed by Orlando Valdez on 2/23/2011

Yes, they Mute substantially well, my only problem is; they don't grip well. Even when toms are parallel to ground, the direction they're being hit from tends to be the way they slip. Toms also have been loosened for in increase in rim height, but it easily manages to go over it.

  • Great Buy

As reviewed by Chris on 12/2/2009

I have pretty much all of the mutes you would buy in the Sound Percussion mute pack. They allow me to play late at night and with very little noise heard out side. I have not had one complaint from anyone about my playing anymore. Not a perfect solution because you do lose some rebound. I had a few HQ mutes before and these feel much nicer. Only downside I had was my bass drum mute. It didn't have the cutout for the pedal so it chewed up the mute in that location. But it is all better now cause I made that "Y" cut you see in the pic. Also w/ bass mute I bought didn't have anything to keep it from folding in half so I had to rig something up. But in the pack it seems to have hardware.
