Import Flash (SWF) filesâ to visually synchronize your audio to your project. ACID Loop Creation Tools
Create your own music loops for use in ACID software. Create one-shots, loops, and Beatmapped tracks. Using the ACID Loop Creation Toolbar you can display and edit ACID .wav file properties including tempo and root note, finely edit audio clips and shift selections to get the sound you want. When you create a loop, the information you set is embedded in the file, so your loops will change tempo and pitch-shift along with your ACID project.
Audio Restoration Tools
Sound Forge software automatically scans sections of your file and marks sample peaks that are clipping for easy fixing. Use the Vinyl Restoration noise reduction tool to easily remove clicks, pops, and other noise from your recordings.

I actually use version 7.0, but SoundForge is a program that is perfect for audio editing. It comes with all the tools to tweak a track to perfection. If you need just the right fade, you can actually graphically draw the fade you want. You can add effects from its expansive plugin library. It has other tools like time stretch and dither that make it a one-stop for audio editing.
I had a MAC and went through about 20 wave editing programs including pro-tools and apple soundtrack and none of them even remotely compare to Sony's Sound Forge 8.0, it is so easy with soundforge to zoom in and out of the wave and you can do it with pin-point accuracy!! If you DJ then making a mix is a super easy too!! all you do is press record and you can go back the next day or week and begin exactly where you left off!! I made a 40+ track mega mix dj cd this way, all I did was do a few mixes every night and after a couple of weeks i cut and spliced all of my material with complete ease and after all of my "what appears to be" hard work was finished I had a masterpeice and every DJ in my home town was asking me how I made my cd and i told them it was simple Sony Sound Forge is the key and it's great for coverting all of you audio files to different formats as well!!
I am a MAC addict. My main work platform of is Logic Pro, but when it comes to precise editing nothing comes close to Sound Forge. Sound Forge is the only reason why I have a PC right by my G5. It is a shame it does not come available for MAC users. So if you are a PC (Windows) person, this should be your editor of choice. If you haven't tried it, don't loose any more time.
