A straightforward interface, easy-to-use tools, and loop-based composition with professional power and quality are the hallmarks of Sony ACID Pro. With the addition of multitrack audio and MIDI recording, ACID Pro 6 has become the ideal environment for composing, recording, mixing, and production. It brings its renowned ease of use to these traditional DAW functions, making it easy for ACID users to transition to audio and MIDI recording, and for musicians frustrated by recording software to finally make music on their computer easily.

Audio multitrack recording
Designed to record multitrack audio live or in the studio, ACID Pro 6 lets you arm multiple tracks with flexible input routing, record selected events, choose from multiple takes, and punch in and out easily. Pro 6 supports ReWire and VST plug-ins and comes with 20 DirectX effects. You can also use VST synths with support for multiple output ports and individual mute, solo, effects, and volume controls for each synth bus. It also supports 5.1 surround mixing, external control surfaces, and project sections that let you rearrange MIDI and audio segments across multiple tracks.

MIDI sequencing
ACID Pro 6 lets you record and edit MIDI note and controller data on a timeline with piano roll or grid views. You can enter notes through an external MIDI controller or with ACID's onscreen keyboard, then audition before committing. You can edit MIDI events directly in the timeline, quantize data in events, edit velocity value, change duration, or transpose MIDI data. It's also easy to create and edit drum maps for hardware or software-based MIDI synths and drum machines.

Comments about Sony ACID Pro 6 Multitrack Recording Software:

If you favor ProTools over ACID as a recording technology, YOU MUST BE STUPID. I own both. I use ACID. To complete a project for mastering, the simple design and easy key commands in ACID enable you to complete a project in a third of the time. The FX patches (ie. Reverb, EQ, Compression, Delay) are comparable to any of the patches for purchase you might buy with ProTools, plus most established musicians use external hardware for FX anyways. The "Beatmapper" is the easiest "BPM finder" I've used in any program, and consequently enables you to mix samples and clips in an easier fashion than any program available. In conclusion, ACID is the best, easiest, and most user friendly program for recording available on the music market today.

Awesome tool for composing music

Comments about Sony ACID Pro 6 Multitrack Recording Software:

Acid Pro is one of the most intuitive music composition apps available. It handles sample loops much better than Cakewalk Sonar, (Sonar calls them "Groove Tracks"). Unlike Sonar, with Acid Pro you can change the tempo of any sample dramatically, with no audible degredation. Also, Acid Pro has a very intuitve user interface. It's real easy to layout loop tracks, and capture live audio tracks. In fact, if you've ever used any Sony (or Sonic Foundry) software then Acid will be a breeze. If not, the built in help guides will get you going fast, if necessary. I love this software! I also recommend the Mick Fleetwood drum loops - you can retire your drum machine.
