I just do not understand how a kit of this caliber can be produced, shipped from China to the USA, and then shipped to the end user for under four hundred dollars, and the music store be able to make any money. Just amazed. The kit really doesn't have any corners cut anywhere. The hardware is all solid, first rate. The shells are true and solid. The bearing edges are spot on. The wrap is beautiful. There are an even number of lugs on each drum, not five..like some other companies are doing. The heads are the only place where there was some cost savings by the producer, but most drummers are going to replace a new kits heads with the ones they prefer anyway. I personally like Remo Pinstripes for toms, Coated Ambassador for snare, and EMAD for bass...so these drums really are keepers, and are truly worthy of being played out. I was using either a set of Gretsch Catalina Jazz or a vintage set of Ludwigs on gigs, but now this is going to be my "go-to set". At this price, I really won't have to worry as much about damage....but I know I still will. They are a great set of drums at any price. I wish they were available in the Black Galaxy Sparkle, but the Silver Sparkle is beautiful. If you have any doubts about quality, don't worry. This kit brings it. I am assuming the shells are cross laminated as other Sonor drum shells are, but regardless....if you are on the fence about these drums, jump on over, and take the plunge. You will not be disappointed. I've been playing for 40+ years, and have owned and played about every brand out there from Ludwigs, Slingerlands, Tama, Rogers, Gretsch, Yamaha, WFL, and probably a few more, so I do know my tubs. Get these and you won't be disappointed.....and buy them before there is a price increase or they are discontinued or something else might happen. They are just too good to pass on at this price.
