I looked at other possible solutions such as the strap with weights to counteract the neck heavy problem. But they are much more expensive and wider. I don't like wide straps so that possibility was out.
This product helped a lot for my neck heavy guitars. I had to use it differently than pictured. I don't have my right shoulder through the strap, just my left. The strap material is a little slippery so you may have to keep adjusting the length or do something else to keep it from lengthening out on you. Not having my right shoulder through the strap helped for me.
Durable material. It should last quite well but is slippery.
It wasn't exceedingly expensive and will last well. Once you overcome the slipperiness, it works well for the intended purpose.

Comments about Slider Straps Dual Shoulder Strap:

Great idea on paper. Poor execution on design. I should have tried one out first to prevent having a useless strap that I might as well throw away. Due to the designers not caring enough to make this idea really work they simply connected both extra straps to the end of the device where it attaches to the bridge end of the guitar and that doesn't work because iit repositions the instrument to the point of unplayable. I thought about reconstructing this item with parts and pieces from another sacrifice strap but it's hardly worth the trouble. Maybe someday. Maybe not. A real shame they couldn't get it right even if it cost more it would be worth it and the fix is very easy to design but people just don't care about making things right anymore.

Comments about Slider Straps Dual Shoulder Strap:

The strap as designed does not hold the guitar neck at the proper angle, unless you are an undisciplined player who plays with the neck pointing at the floor. I play with the neck at about a 45 degree angle (pointing up) and the only way that I can achieve this with this strap is to use it upside down and reversed from how the instructions suggest it to be worn. I found another brand that shifts the guitar weight to the hips and still manages to keep the guitar at a comfortable angle.

Comments about Slider Straps Dual Shoulder Strap:

I play a Gibson Les Paul and though I love it, the weight on my shoulder has always been a complaint. This harness does what it says. Once adjusted to fit, it distributes the weight between both shoulders allowing for more comfortable session. I give four stars due to the odd feel of the strap coming over the right shoulder, however that is something you can easily get used to.

Comments about Slider Straps Dual Shoulder Strap:

Distributes the load, as promised, and the quality of materials is good, but the strap prevents your arm and hand from hanging straight down onto the strings. (See picture above) if you like to rest your forearm on the top of your bass, over the pick ups, this strap is not for you.

Comments about Slider Straps Dual Shoulder Strap:

This strap has been very helpful for maintaining a well postured standing or seated position while playing my autoharp in an Appalachian style vertical position. For added security of my instrument, I have incorporated using a locking strap button mechanism and would recommend that any user of any strap system do the same.

I cannot address others finding fault for its ease of use and fit. The instructions included show how to put the strap on and I have find this works fine. Most issues previously criticized were for use on guitars. I found no issues in donning, adjusting, or wearing this strap for use with an autoharp.

It Works If You Wear It Backwards

Comments about Slider Straps Dual Shoulder Strap:

The product does work, but you have to make some adjustments for it to actually perform its function.

When you first put on the product, as directed by the instructions, you will notice that the right side is double-strapped. (This is similar to the adjustment loop on a regular strap.) The problem with this is that the double-strapped side is stronger, and thus it tries to pull the bottom of the guitar upwards. This makes for an awkward playing position, since most guitar players like to angle the neck upwards.

The solution I found was to wear the product backwards. You just turn it around so that the double-strapped side is over your left shoulder.

When you put it on, you pull the fasteners (the ends) until all the straps are flush against your back and aren't twisted. Then, you pull the right-side fastener down below your waist, and pull the left-side fastener up near your armpit.

When you then attach the fasteners to the guitar, it puts the guitar in a more traditional position, with the neck angled up. Then you adjust the double-strapped side, much as you would a traditional strap, to get as much support as you need to keep the guitar in position.

I will point out that even with these steps, the guitar still has a little bit of a tendency to drop out of position, as the guitar neck still wants to drop down. However, with the double-strap on your left side, the guitar won't resist you when you try to bring it up to normal playing position, as it does when the product is worn the opposite way. If you rest your right (strumming) arm on the body of the guitar and push in a little, this will force the guitar to stay in normal playing position, with the neck angled up.

(Let me point out to the lefties that you don't need to wear the product backwards. You only need to make the other adjustments I mentioned.)

Because you have to make these several adjustments, I rate the product three stars, since you really shouldn't have to do this. The inventors had a good idea, but they just didn't quite design it properly.

That said, if you have chronic back pain as I do, then a little inconvenience is nothing if it provides you with relief.

Although it feels perfect for use on a guitar, it feels wrong on bass, just not sitting in the right place. But if you are buying for use on guitar then this is the best.

Comments about Slider Straps Dual Shoulder Strap:

I have a pinched nerve in my back and issues with muscle cramps. This strap does the job of equalling the weight of my bass between my shoulders. I am very partial to my custom 4" leather bass straps, but the pain from my back is making it nearly impossible to play. I play about 80 shows a year. I have only used this in practice since I am just learning how to adjust it to the correct height. It is simple to use. Simple to put on. Simple to adjust. I was almost put off by the other reviews about how difficult this thing is, but is really is super simple. No issues with it at all. It is exactly as I would expect a nylon strap to be. I would prefer a leather one, but that is for another review. This strap is a great plain strap that is not plain.
