Simple to use, Small and out-of-the-way, responsive, durable. Don't waste your money on the "other" brand triggers and pay extra for xlr cables...and giant mounts on your beautiful drums. These are elegant. Bolt the protector of the piezo on one lug and on the one next to it bolt the 1/4 jack; you will find this keeps the piezo nicely placed on the head without any torque to the trigger and also minimizes the look of the trigger. I've only used 2 brands of triggers and I can tell you these are phenomenal; I trust them to live concerts (1000-2000 attendees).

best trigger for the price.

By jdawg

Comments about Simmons Piezo Drum Trigger:

Dont waste your money on the ddrum triggers. these triggers are far more durable and work just as good. Im running these through a dm pro and i couldnt be more satisfied with these. the only problem i ran into was that when playing live it would trigger at random, easily fixed by turning the thresh up.

A quality product!!

By Gus Moratinos

from Orange County, Ca.

Comments about Simmons Piezo Drum Trigger:

I purchased this trigger originally because of the low price, but when I set it up, I was reminded of how Simmons was the leader in electronic percussion in the 80's and their quality is excellent. This trigger performed well with mesh as well as regular drumheads and came with a very cool trigger hat to ensure that it's not going to move when you play. My only negative issue would be that I wish GC would stock these in the stores more often. For what you get, you really can't beat this price!!!

  • Easy To Use
  • Good Quality
  • Low-Cost

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Concerts
    • MIDI Drums
    • Practicing

Comments about Simmons Piezo Drum Trigger:

I discovered the Simmons trigger after months of trying to build my own triggers for acoustic drums. These triggers are super cheap and easy to install. It is even possible to remove the trigger. If you need to replace a drum head, it is possible to peel the trigger off and with the included extra tape re-install onto the new head. I am using these triggers on Snare, kick drum and floor tom. They work great. I haven't tried any other for purchase triggers, and right now I don't think I'll ever need to. Stocking up on these, they're awesome.

    About Me Professional Musician

    Pros

    • Easy To Use

    Cons

    • 1/4" insert jack may pull out

    Best Uses

    • Backup

    • Practicing

Comments about Simmons Piezo Drum Trigger:

I mount mine on the acoustic tom shells just under the rim, it gives more control in eliminating double triggering and fine tuning the sensitivity. Due to so many factors such as room size, stage volume etc.I could never find a setting using head mounted triggers on my toms that was consistent. There was always a tom that would double trigger or just simple go off on a hard hit bass guitar note.
I mount on the heads of the bass drums on the kick side, only an inch or so from the rim.
This works for me in my rock band and picks up fast or slow hits.
The down side to these is that you have to be careful unplugging them as the 1/4"connector on the trigger will pull/rip out sticking to the 1/4" cable .
I now super glue the metal jack to the plastic edges of the trigger to prevent that (after several losses)

    Great triggers.

Comments about Simmons Piezo Drum Trigger:

Works great on mesh heads if you have a module that can adjust sensitivity settings. Also, you might not be able to fit both the jack and hat on the same tension rod as pictured, but the wire is long enough use 2 adjacent tension rods.
