With 4 drum pads, 50 rhythm patterns, and 30 percussion sounds, the SDMK2 gives you a full set of digital drums with a small footprint. It features a large LCD screen, a jog dial for easy control, and a learning game with indicator lights. It also comes with a built-in demo song as well as a pair of drum sticks and a 9V adapter.
We bought this digital drum set for our son to use when he didn't have access to his drum set. We bought it last Feburary and it has already broken. He was very careful with it and it wasn't used much. One of the pads stopped working a few months ago, now the unit has stopped working completely. Not sure whether we'll bother with trying to get it replaced under warranty or not. If we can find the receipt we may give it a try.
We purchased the Simmons SDMK2 Electronic Drum Pad for our 7 year old grandson. He began playing along immediately and literally spent hours at a stretch playing and improving his drum skills with each sitting. The wide choice of rhythms, the ability to change the sound of each of the pads, the ability to slow the beat down for the beginner and the fact that there is feedback as to how you are doing has made it a perfect drum set for this young learner. He has enjoyed seeing a score as he plays and working to beat that score the next time through. Good visual as well as audio learning tools. A great product.
