NEW REVIEW - Simmons DA200 rocks!!!!
I bought this amp to go with my Alesis DM5pro with surge cymbals. It rocks out. the sound quality is through the roof. I was really impressed by how much better the DM5 sounds through this amp. Even at low volume the highs are crystal clear, the lows are full of power and the overall sound is awesome. I have used this amp as a stand alone in a few live gigs in small rooms with no problems. in a larger venue, it works great as a monitor.

Very good
I bought this amp to go with my Roland TD-3KW, and it is an extremely good product. This speaker is significantly louder than the smaller 50 watt version, and it also contains a 12" subwoofer, which makes the amp sound far superior even at low volumes. It is also quite a bit larger than the 50 watt so do not be fooled by the pictures. Very good product.

VERY POWERFUL!!!
I bought this monitor to play with my Handsonic 10, and boy does it rock. I play for a church band and our church is a huge building. This monitor was heard over other speakers and PA systems. VERY GOOD BUY! Very strong and crisp.

Lots of Bang for little Bucks!
I bought this amp a couple of weeks ago to use with my Roland TD-20s. After spending many hours researching and reading reviews, I was sold on this unit. It out-performs all other (drum) amps I've tried or listened to. I love the full, powerful lows that you can "feel" from the subwoofer when kicking the bass; the strong, clear mid-levels from the toms; the crisp and bright highs from the hi-hats, ride, and crash cymbals. Best of all is the price! After investing so much money on my TD-20s, I didn't want to wait until I could afford a "high-end" amp so I checked into this one and a couple of competitors. As it turns out, I feel I got a "high-end" amp at a "low-end" price!

Not Too Bad
This was an excellent match with my Roland T4 electronic drumset. This thing has plenty of sound coming out of it and has a pretty small footprint. One thing you need when purchasing this monitor is two cables for attaching to your drumset. Great price for a nice monitor.

Money well spent
I have this amp paired up with the Alesis Performance pad, using the percussion sounds and hand claps along with my acoustic drumset. It totally cuts thru in live situations. I like the fact it has stereo XLR outputs, seperate output volume and ground lift. The slanted cab is perfect in front or behind, aims the sound directly at the ears. The knobs have dimples in them so you can reach with the drumstick and make adjustments. Sound quality is outstanding for this type of amp in this price range. More shows to come, so I'll have another review to tell how it's holding up.

Great design, good sound
I went to the store to try out some different amps in this price range. The bass in the Behringer ULTRATONE K3000FX was much more real than the Simmons, but I chose the DA200s for a few reasons:
1. The front is slanted up, towards my ears, so I can hear it.
2. The built-in direct box has attenuation.
3. The stereo speakers actually make a difference.
4. Anything significantly smaller or lighter can't handle Bass drum sounds.
My only gripes:
1. The headphone jack is 1/8"
2. When headphones are plugged in the speaker is turned off. I would rather have separate volume knobs.
3. The snare drum doesn't sound real.
Overall, for the price, It is outstanding. Several of us in the Drum department agreed that the Simmons sounded significantly better than a Roland amp that cost twice as much.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because for just a little more money the Behringer ULTRATONE K3000FX sounds better.
FYI- I use it with a Zendrum and BFD2 sounds
