The Shure Model WH30XLR is a light yet rugged headset microphone. Designed for vocalists and instrument-playing vocalists, the WH30 utilizes a high quality electret-condenser cartridge suitable for all applications where mobility, comfort, low microphone-visibility, and high sound quality are required. Because of its cardioid (unidirectional) pickup pattern, the WH30 provides isolation from extraneous sound sources and high gain-before-feedback.
The wireframe and gooseneck adjust to any head size and shape. An integrated elastic headband comfortably pads and secures the headset. The WH30 is supplied with two snap-on windscreens, clothing clip, storage bag and cable-management device.
The WH30 is a perfect fit for those who desire total freedom of movement and need the high-quality audio of a condenser microphone.
For wired applications, the WH30XLR is supplied with a 1.5m (5 ft.) hi-flex cable and high quality mic preamplifier (RPM420) with a three pin XLR connector. The RPM420 preamplifier requires phantom power from any 11 - 52 V source.

I am a drummer who sings backup vocals/harmonies for a progressive rock band. Just used this headset mic for the first time a few days ago at a gig, and the thing works and sounds great! Sound guy had no issues with bleed through from the drums, the headset stayed put no matter how hard I moved, and I even forgot it was there after a while! I will say that it feels a little tight at first, but wasn't painful at all. Maybe I just have a big head, who knows. I really dig the built in shock mount as well, seems to be a very smart idea. And the length of the boom seems to be just right; placement was not an issue at all. Hopefully it will last (have only used once) but it seems like a rugged and a well built, well thought out piece of equipment!
'm giving this 2 stars. The quality of the mic itself is pretty good, but the headset will never bend to how it's supposed to in the picture. Even if I did somehow angle it properly it would be down by my neck in 2 minutes. Stupid.
WOW!! great sound! i`ve tried other headsets before, but this one by far, is the best! cuts right through the music and has a nice defined sound!! i play drums, and not having that boom mic stand in my face is very liberating!! the various clips that come with the product makes it easy to fasten to your clothes so there is no wire getting in your way! you`ll dig this mic!!
Only used on two sessions. As a drummer I loves this headset mike. Very confortable and sounds great. Much better than traditional mike on a boom stand. It allows for much greater freedom of motion and is a joy to use.
I've gone through a lot of headset mics in my time. This one is comfortable and sturdy while still being lightweight. It has a great dynamic sound range to boot, with little or no "pop" on sibilants. I believe I've found the model I'm going to stick with.
I have been blown away with the quality of this mic. I am a drummer and needed to get away from using a mic stand (got in the way. I was leary of this being a good product based on its relatively low price, but have been amazed with its performance.
