Overview

The Shure SLX Wireless Headset System is designed for presenters, vocalists, and instrument-playing vocalists who desire total freedom of movement and need the high-quality audio of a condenser microphone. The kit includes the SLX4 receiver, SLX1 bodypack transmitter, and WH30 headset microphone.

SLX4
The SLX4 receiver brings unprecedented ease of use to wireless with Automatic Frequency Selection and Automatic Transmitter Setup. With included rack hardware and detachable antennas, it is ready for immediate installation right out of the box.

SLX1 bodypack transmitter
SLX1 bodypack transmitter features automatic transmitter set up, backlit LCD with timeout feature, frequency and power lockout, 3-segment battery fuel gauge, 2 AA batteries that provide 8 hours continuous use, and 518-782mHz operation range.

WH30
The Shure Model WH30 is a light yet rugged headset microphone. Designed for presenters, vocalists and instrument-playing vocalists, the WH30 utilizes a high quality electret-condenser cartridge suitable for all applications where mobility, comfort, low microphone visibility, and high sound quality are required. Because of its cardioid (unidirectional) pickup pattern, the WH30 provides isolation from extraneous sound sources and has high gain-before-feedback.

Comments about Shure SLX Wireless Headset System with WH30 Mic:

Brand new out of the box this unit was unreliable, worked intermittently and popped thru the sound system. I have always liked shure products, but not this. The headset was bulky and uncomfortable too. I sent it back and got a "Line 6" unit. It works great, has a headset that is barely noticable, and my sound guy approves of the quality sound output as well.

A dream of a mic set.

Comments about Shure SLX Wireless Headset System with WH30 Mic:

I have not only used this mic a number of times as the performer and FOH engineer, and this has hands down been a great headset. The comfort, clear sound, and ability to hold up to even the sweaty wild artist have not always been the case with some of my other headsets. I'm normally a big sennheiser fan but this set is a great design and a strong performance with no drop outs or signal interference. And FCC compliant to boot. Rock on!

      This is Beast!

      By Daniel Suarez

Comments about Shure SLX Wireless Headset System with WH30 Mic:

This is absolutely amazing! As the drummer in my band bending over or finding the mic while playing sometimes made me loose my tempo! At our second gig this actually happened and i was completely ashamed so i decide to look for a solution ad there it was!The best thing is the cardioid mic that helps prevent my drums from overpowering it. Another plus is that its massively rugged and has over 960 frequencies! Also the volume control unit on the back can be used to your advantage. Other than that this is a must buy for any musician that wants full mobility with no restrictions. BUY IT!!!!

A Reliable (but not the best) Shure Product

      By Anonymous

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Shure SLX Wireless Headset System with WH30 Mic:

If you play in close proximity to your speakers (mains and/or monitors), this mic system is great at rejecting feedback. You get very good gain on this mic- plenty of volume. The sound quality is decent enough, but don't expect to be blown away. But it works. The one main drawback is the way the mic is built- it's a hard metal, square-shaped frame that doesn't fit very well on the back of the head and the ear loop opposite the boom is not comfortable at all (there's a Croakies nylon headband type of thing but I can't see what purpose it serves...it's loose and doesn't support the back of the head). It's rather painful, in fact, to wear this thing for more than 30-minutes at a clip. Also, don't expect to wear this unit with glasses (the pain factor is increased ten-fold with glasses). It is also a heavy unit to wear on the head, especially compared to the lightweight Countryman models. I purchased the Countryman head mic (tried both omni and direction versions) but the way the capsule is built, it generates tons of feedback if you are anyway close to mains or monitors. You might want to try the Sennheiser model for a better fit or possibly upgrade to Shure's beta headset mic (it's pricey but it doesn't look as uncomfortable as this WH30 is).
