This is a great mic. I purchased the PG42 for an overhead for my drums. It replaced one of the cheaper brands condenser mics that you get as a kit. No comparison! This mic is warm and provides a full sound. The cymbals are not too bright and the tom's sound great. I'm planning to buy a second one to replace my other overhead. Forgot to mention that it's well build and the floating mic cradle works great. For the money, this is the mic to have. Hagrid
the ksm is has a warmer tone and the pg42 has a cripsy tone.its hard to choose, but it always depends on the voice ,like if u r a male and u sound like a man get on the ksm 44 if u sound like a younger man get a pg42,why because your voice as a man sound real deep and the lows sound like muddy, and a lil bassy, plus there rolloff switch on it,so youll blend it good in the mix as for the pg42 the cripsy is good not to much bassy, it sounds good from 3 inches away, no pad, clean signal.
