Overview

The Shure PG14 Performance Gear Wireless Guitar System includes the PG4 Diversity Receiver, PG1 Bodypack Transmitter, and WA302 Instrument Cable for use with guitar, bass guitar, and other instruments with 1/4" outputs. With the Shure Performance Gear PG Series Wireless systems you get a reliable, portable system with up to 10 selectable frequencies and frequency agility.

The PG4 Diversity Receiver features dual internal 1/4" antennas that eliminate potential for antenna misalignment and damage. It uses a variable companding ratio based on Shure's patented Audio Reference Companding and delivers a cleaner, less noisy signal that's more true-to-life than 2:1 companding.

The PG1 Bodypack Transmitter has a transmitter lockout function to prevent accidental shut down, a mute, and gain control.

The WA302 Instrument Cable connects easily to the PG1 to provide reliable, great-sounding wireless access.

A great system for the price

By The Flawless Imperfection Guitarist

Comments about Shure PG14 Performance Gear Wireless Guitar System:

I was a little skeptical about this after reading the reviews, and when I pulled it out of the box and it was pretty light. But I have played about ten shows with it so far (probably almost 20 hours) and I have never had a problem. Although it may not have some of the same features as something more expensive, its great for the price and its a SHURE so you know its good quality. This is a definite buy on a tighter budget.

Best use of returned X-mas gift money ever!

By Bobby

Comments about Shure PG14 Performance Gear Wireless Guitar System:

Last Christmas, my parents bought me a Nintendo Wii, however, I never play video games so it was kinda useless. So I returned it, got the money and headed straight over to GC and I can't tell you how much I really like this wireless. It fits in my pedal case perfectly so my set up time at shows is cut in half. I love the fact that it has 9 channels in case I pick up other frequencies in small venues (anyone who's seen This Is Spinal Tap should know what I'm talking about). And the best part, I NEVER get any feedback while playing, and I have some hot pickups in my Schecter. I've played a lot of shows with it since December and it's held up to the test so far. So for anyone that doesn't like it, are you sure we have the same wireless?

Not Bad At All

By Spaniard

Comments about Shure PG14 Performance Gear Wireless Guitar System:

I kept hearing mixed reviews about wireless systems so I thought I should find out for myself. I bought this unit and it worked fine the first time I used it. There is not difference in my tone quality and as a matter of fact it sounds just as good as it would wired. It's a really simple setup and truth is you really don't do much to set it up but hold a few buttons. It's the best bang for your buck in my opinion and it hasn't let me down yet.

AMAZING!!!

By Josh Enos

Comments about Shure PG14 Performance Gear Wireless Guitar System:

I know sometimes especially dealing with electronics there can be a bad apple in the bunch sometimes but I got a good unit that works flawlessly. The time it took to set it up was effortless and the unit is simple and not complicated whatsoever. Highly recommend this unit especially if you are on a budget.

Not too bad

By M. Bannerman

from Orange County, CA

Comments about Shure PG14 Performance Gear Wireless Guitar System:

I needed a wireless system to hook up to play with for a couple nights. I couldn't hook it up straight to the amp because it was a large place, so I went and bought the wireless with the money I had. It is easy to set up and works really well if you use it with all your own gear (heads/cabinets) and that kind of stuff. I suggest if you have more money, do go for a better quality system, but if you need something and have a budget, this will work just as well.

Useless

By up300

Comments about Shure PG14 Performance Gear Wireless Guitar System:

This unit is cheap. As you pull it out of the box it looks like something you would buy at Toys R Us. The cord/connector is terrible - you can't tell if it is plugged in all the way and as soon as you bump it -it cuts out on you. Same with the mute button -can't feel the button press down to know that you have pressed it. The guy at the store talked it up - but seems like they are just trying to unload them.

Good for me

By Thomas Payne

from Houston

Comments about Shure PG14 Performance Gear Wireless Guitar System:

Received a competitors unit for Christmas which was missing a critical piece. Returned it and picked up this one for a quite a bit more and glad I did. When I first set it up - was having a lot of cut-outs and was frustrated. Emailed Shure, got a response in less than an hour. Turns out that my unit (Channel H7) was interacting with a local TV station on the even channels. My guitar player got the same unit. He went to channel 1 and I went to channel 5. Absolutely NO drop outs in a reasonable sized room (haven't tried it outside. The unbridled joy of being able to move around without more cords is almost more than I can stand(we've got keys, PA, and up to 3 guitars plus my bass - a lot of stuff to trip over). Am playing a Ibanez SR605 through a Digitech BP355 into a Fender Rumble 75. The tone is impacted maybe a little straight into the amp but the modeler seems to alleviate that.
