A must have mic for live use
This is a must have mic for any active musician. This mic is excellent for stage use, but it is also very useful in a studio or project studio. This mic has been my main stage mic for over 15 years. The SM58 is known to be great for live use but it is also great to use on vocal recordings. The SM58 is also a great mic to use on a snare drum (especially since it is durable). The SM58 is built tough enough to stand up against years of abuse. If you play live you need to have this mic.

Still the best
I've had my SM58 for a few weeks now, and I don't know why I didn't have one sooner. When playing with my band, the vocals are clear, even though we're loud in a tiny little room. As far as live performance goes, you can't get any better than this in the price range.

Simply the best
The Shure SM58 microphone is the most widely used microphone for vocals in any situation. This mic is always the first choice for vocals, but also sounds good on instruments, especially acoustic instruments like 6 or 12 string guitars and certain drums.
The SM58 is a workhorse and built to hold up over years and years of constant use. It's simple to set up for live or recording use and so easy to afford.

THE mic to sing into on stage
Well - what can i say about the Sm58? More popular than whitebread, more usefull than clothing, better reputation than any politician. The Sm58 has set a defacto standard in a notorosely fickle market. It is not uncommon to have signers refusing to perform with any other mic. If you need stage mics for your venue, an all aroun vocal mic for any use, a decent uniqdirectional for drum\\insturment micing, or whatever, the SM58 is NOT going to disapoint.

The Best.
This microphone is one of the best microphones I've ever used. Although the price is a little high it's still worth it. It's so clear to see why this microphone has been the industry standard for years.

Killer Sound, not so killer price
I just bought the SM58 Mic because I needed a new dynamic mic and i had a very tight budget. The person who helped me out told me that I would be 100% pleased with the mic and it sounds as great as its higher priced couterparts. At first I was sceptical But after getting home and plugging it into my trusy peavey I was blown away. This Mic has a very crisp clear high end sound. Buy it it's totally worth it.

Tried & true
As is noted in many reviews, the Shure SM-58 has long been an industry-standard vocal mic. It has stood the test of time, seen extreme use and abuse yet keeps functioning well year after year. Many new and affordable microphones have been introduced in the past few years, which is great for the home-based musician on a budget. As with many things, each brand (and model) produces a unique result, and it is really a matter of preference for each musician to choose which mic suits their desired sound. As far as dynamic mics for live shows go, however, you can't go wrong with an SM 58. It is a very reliable mic at a great price.

This mic is one of the best out there. Simple, easy to use. If only the price was a little less. But still way worth the money spent.

Best Mic IMO
I purchased the Shure SM58 Mic with the intention of another cheap microphone, but i was wrong! this Mic can withstand a lot of abuse even though its accidental and it still sounds brand new every time i use it i recommend this beautiful Mic for any vocalist or for use on the snare drum. it was worth every penny, also great for live shows and band practice and recording in a studio SM58 #1.

BIG SAVINGS ON THE WORLD'S MOST POPULAR VOCAL MIC
Trusted by top industr professionals since 1966, the Shure SM58 was adopted by early rock n' roll musicians because it offered the right combination of rugged reliability and excellent sound quality. It quikly became the most popular vocal microphone in the world. The Shure SM58 cardioid dynamic vocal features a 50Hz-15kHz frequency response tailored for vocals, with a brightened midrange and bass roll-off. It's designed for and extremely brilliant in live performance, sound reinforcement, and studio recording. A highly effective, built-in, spherical filter minimizes wind and breath "pop" noise. The unidirectional, cardioid pickup pattern adeptly isolates the main sound source while minimizing unwanted background noise. It also includes a clip and a bag. This is the best deal ever!!!
