I bought this to go along with my headset using a PGX2 receiver. I don't have any distortion with mine. Of course I stay 4"-6" away from the mic. If someone is used to "eating the mic" as you have to do to be heard with some dynamic mics, this could be causing the distortion. There's also a gain setting under the wind screen that may help the previous writer. I've been singing for 45 years and find this to be better than most of my previous mics, including my wired SM58.
I bought this mic to go along with my PGX hands free reciver. It sends a great signal but the mic does not have a Gain control and so I constantly find that it distorts. I would not recomend that you purchase this mic if you are a singer or loud preacher. It sends out a great signal but the distortion messes it all up. look into other mics with gain control if your sending loud signals.
