  • Best performance for the price

As reviewed by S. Mathew on 8/2/2009

We used this mic in a medium sized church as a lapel mic for the Pastor and the performance was very good. No problems encountered so far.

  • Great system

As reviewed by Leo Morales on 10/20/2009

I found this wireless mic system effective and ridiculously easy to use. Buying an off the shelf cable enabled me to use it with our HD video camcorder. It sounds good in a mechanics garage as well as outside. It also picks up the person who is being interviewed by the subject. The only thing I didn't like about this system was that it really requires a stable surface. The base unit is so light that it can easily be knocked around by the weight of a cable.

  • OK For An Entry Level Lavalier

As reviewed by Randy Rohrbacher on 11/7/2011

Looking for a decent lavelier wireless for wedding ceremonies, I tried this unit. Testing at home, I was able to go around 100' line of sight before it dropped out. In use at an actual ceremony, I was about 40-50 feet from the B&G line of sight. I actually found this unit picked up better--not on the lapel--but with the body pack secured to the mic stand (I had a cordless dynamic mic for the officiant on a stand) and the mic element taped to the end of the dynamic mic & pointed at the B&G. One time, a bridesmaide moved in between the line of sight (I had the reciever on top of my speaker)and it dropped out. I wonder if it's due to the internal antenna of the reciever. Vocal tone was OK, but not as pristine as a corded mic (naturally). This is Shure's basic model and so you should not expect it to work like magic. Since I sometimes will need to be a good 50+ feet from the B&G during a ceremony, I cannot chance dropouts, so I returned this unit and upgraded to the PGXD digital version (this will be reviewed as well). If you know you will be fairly close to the receiver, this unit should work well for basic vocal use.
