A miniature mic with a SPL capability suitable for drums and horns.

The Shure Beta 98A/C is a compact, high-output, condenser microphone for professional sound reinforcement and studio recording. An extremely uniform cardioid polar pattern provides excellent gain before feedback and off-axis rejection of unwanted noise. Its high sound pressure level (SPL) capability makes it useful for a variety of acoustic or amplified instruments including drums, piano, reed, wind, and strings. This microphone requires phantom power and performs best with a 48 VDC supply. Comes with an external in-line preamplifier, RK282 shock-mount swivel adapter, 7.6 m (25 ft.) light-weight cable, snap-fit windscreen, and zippered pouch.

Shure Beta 98A/C Instrument Mic Features:

  • not a very good product

As reviewed by chris T on 11/20/2013

i recently purchesed this microphone and have found that i have already spent double the microphone just to get it set up. do not be fooled, the microphone is only a little over an inch long and the stand you see in the picture the same. you will need to buy very spisific cables with this and 2 of the phantom powers i bought did not work.. this microphone seems to have good quality sound if you are willing to buy many other items including: stand phantom power usb adapter audio interface 2 XLR cables and xlr only and you seem to need a decently powerful computer you will find no help whatsoever from the shure website and if you need help just go to the store.
