Much better

By RICHARD

from Lancaster, NY

One of the keys to successful steel playing is being able to easily lift the steel off of the strings. I've been using a Stevens steel, which is contoured for just that purpose. It works but not as well as the Shubb. The Shubb has a higher profile making it much easier to grip and lift the bar. The wooden grip is very comfortable and the bar itself is a half moon profile so it's about half the weight of the Stevens. Before I start getting hate mail from the Stevens fans, let me say that the Stevens has been around for years. Many people swear by it and that's fine. It's all about personal preference and for me, the Shubb works well.

The only slide to use. PERIOD!

By Trashton Porter

from Seffner,Fl.

I have used many types of slides over decades of playing lap steel guitar. Some slides work better than others for different styles of playing. I have found that nothing compares to the Shubb GS. Intonation is better. Accuracy improves. The balance is perfect. The wooden grip allows for various gripping styles that helps keep fatigue to a minimum. The slide is the most important component involved in the playing of lap steel guitar. A cheap lap steel sounds like a $1,000 lap steel when you use a Shubb! Increase your skills and enjoy your lap steel today. Buy a Shubb....

Shubb Steel

By Rod

from Seattle Washington State

Great fit; I can hold onto it better than the Stevens bar, so fewer divits on my dobro-fewer launches across the stage.

Great for gigs

By Rocker911

from Chandler, Az

This slide is great and the wooden grip is the best! I've never wanted to use the glass one because it doesn't sound as great as the ShubeGS-1. I have only used it, but i'm definatley going to buy one.
