The Shaker Madcat harmonica microphone is an intelligently designed, ergonomically shaped harp players tool. It fits in the hand, between the fingers. The Madcat becomes part of a complex relationship where the harmonica, the microphone and the hands create a new type instrument allowing harp players an unbelievable level of control over their sound, their tone, effects and techniques. Imagine playing acoustic harmonica with all the nuance and hand gestures but now you're amplified and dangerous. The possibilities are awesome. The Madcat Microphone works great with guitar type effects pedals and is very feedback resistant. This Shaker microphone opens up a new world of sonic possibilities to the harp player.

The folks at Shaker really hit one outta the park with this mic. I've been waiting for a mic like this for years. Getting a tight cup with the bullet mics is difficult for someone with smaller hands but this mic fits into your palm so well, it's like playing with no mic at all. All the 'wah wah' affects that can't be done holding other mics are now available to the amped player using this mic. It's so incredibly small yet the sound and pickup is amazing. I'm playing thru a fender hot rod deluxe and this mic has made it easy to concentrate solely on my playing and not on holding the mic and forming a tight cup. I'm very pleased with this mic. It weighs nothing. A pure pleasure to play with.
After trying several other popular brands of harp mics, the Shaker Madcat solved my problem of not getting enough "cup" with my small hands to get the wah-wah and bending effects I heard other blues harp players get. Held between my middle and ring fingers of the left hand, it is comfortable and secure, and, for me, a dream come true. The Madcat sounds great through my little AC/DC highly portable Pignose amp.
