Shaker's Mad Dog harmonica microphone adds a totally new dimension for harp players to explore. Imagine a mic with a full, rich voice; a lot of bottom end; and a mid-range with complex overtones and smooth, clear treble-that's the Mad Dog. Now imagine a microphone the size of a walnut that's so ergonomically perfect that it stays just where you put it between the webbing of your fingers, eliminating hand fatigue and freeing your hands for gestures, while giving you the ability to wail without worry. The Shaker harmonica mic features a purposeful shape, a large-diameter dynamic element housed in an injection molded sono resin case, and it's distinctly voiced to emphasize lower mid frequencies, creamy tonality, and a great response. You'll develop new techniques never before available to harp players. The Mad Dog microphone has a more aggressive, almost industrial look and the design is a balance of form and function. It's a serious tool for serious harp players. Shakey Joe of Shaker mics says, "The Mad Dog is so awesome it even makes me sound good!"

Shaker Harmonica Microphones are part of a sophisticated music making system, one that includes the harmonica, the player's hands, the microphone, the amp, and the player's personal techniques. Traditional methods of measuring response and behavior become pretty much irrelevant because Shaker's don't fit strictly into the established categories of polar patterns. By using a sampling of the harmonica's sound and directing it through acoustic ports into a volume-tuned chamber, Shaker harp mics become, in essence, miniature hand-held recording studios. This is known as Shaker GNS technology, or good noise sampling, resulting in great tone, extreme technique sensitivity, and tremendous feedback. Designed and engineered by Shakey Joe, these mics are totally handmade in the US and use as many American-made parts as possible, making Shaker microphones the real deal. Made in the Arizona desert by harp players, for harp players.

Comments about Shaker Mad Dog Harmonica Microphone:

I saw some videos and reviews on you tube and I became convinced . These cats took harmonica mikes to another level by thinking outside of the box. No more heavy and clunky harmonica microphones that feed back all the time. You have to practically hold it next to your amp for it too feedback. Really ergonomic too, these guys must have asked harp players what they wanted. I also like the fact that they make 2 models ( Mad Cat & Mad Dog ) ,because harmonica microphones are not one size fits all. I chose the " mad dog " for that deep Chicago blues sound. I love the fact that it's made in the U.S.A. , and every single part down to the box it came in. I bought this from GUITAR CENTER because they were the first big box chain store to carry it. I shouldn't have to wait for a year or two for a store to decide to carry a product. They should look out for me, and GUITAR CENTER did just that . I'm very satisfied, and can't wait to see what products this company manufactures next .

nice tone , great sound

Comments about Shaker Mad Dog Harmonica Microphone:

This one is larger, hand sounds are harder, but still doable. played through a bugera v22, and this is my go to setup. I prefer this MIC over the usual bullet, and prefer non held mics over mics, but this one is right.

Good Mic

By D.A. Souza

from Eagle Point OR

Comments about Shaker Mad Dog Harmonica Microphone:

This mic is the right size and very light weight. The volume control is smoothe and feedback is minimal. It projects every nuance of your playing style and is made by an outfit that really cares about it's products.
