    This tuner is amazing, you can install it in the sound hole or just lay it on top of the guitar and will show you if your out of tune or not. Best tuner i've owned by far.

  • Cool tuner...recommend it

    When I went searching for a new acoustic I wanted a guitar with a built-in tuner. Just my luck, the guitar I fell for was a Taylor which, of course, is one of the only brands that does not have any models with built-in tuners. I came across the Shadow Tuner and decided to give it a try since it was a non-invasive way to adding an on-board tuner to the guitar. The tuner itself works well and is accurate. Can use for alt tunings also. It is a lot smaller than it looks in the pictures and, once mounted, looks like it came stock with the guitar. It's a basic no frills tuner. Mounting the tuner was a little difficult. There was not a problem with the tuner fitting in the space around sound hole or conflicts with the guitars framing to mount it. Problem was getting it to adhere to the wood inside the guitar. The tuner comes with precut velcro. One side attaches to the tuner, the other to the guitar itself. The problem with this is that there is still residual wood dust from the manufacturing of the guitar. When I went to press the tuner to attach it to the inside of the guitar, it did not stick real well. Dust stuck to the back of the velcro, which made it even less sticky. I replaced the original velcro with some new velco and it still did not stick all that well. Finally, I ended up using a small amount of Fabri-tac craft glue and now it stays securely in place with no movement. The tuner is easy to turn on and off, but a little tricky to access. You just have to stick one finger inside the sound hole to access the on/off and press it. Tuner does turn off by itself after 20 minutes if you forget or don't feel like turning it off. The battery life of the tuner is supposed to be pretty good. I have not had to change the battery yet. Hopefully, I will not have to detach the tuner to replace the battery. If you look at the photo of the bottom of the tuner, you should be able to replace the battery without having to remove the tuner. The tuner preforms well and is easy to see. The multicolored tuner lights are visible in any lighting condition. No one can see the tuner accept you. Aside from a few possible improvements in the mounting system, it's a great tuner for any acoustic that does not have a built-in tuner. I will recommend to it to my friends.
