Overview

Designed for a Fender Telecaster's neck position, the Seymour Duncan Hot Rails Pickup delivers a fat, full sound with incredible output. The STHR1-N's powerful ceramic magnet, two steel blades and overwound coils all combine to provide a heavy, raw, distorted tone with incredible sustain. Ceramic magnets produce a more aggressive tone with a punchier bass and enhanced upper mids. The Seymour Duncan pickup comes in black only with four-conductor cable. Works equally well with maple and rosewood fingerboards.

Awesome Tele Pickup!!!

By Devin

from Glendale, AZ

Comments about Seymour Duncan STHR1-N Hot Rails Tele Neck Pickup:

Bought this pickup for the neck position on my squire tele to pair with the Seymour Duncan Black Winter humbucker that I had in the bridge position. Installation was simple with basic soldering skills. The pickup sounds amazing and pairs pretty darn well with the Black Winter bridge pickup! Couldn't have asked for a better pickup.

Comments about Seymour Duncan STHR1-N Hot Rails Tele Neck Pickup:

I was worried when I bought this,as my previous experience with Hot Rails wasn't too satisfying. However, this is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to upgrade the puny neck pickup on my G&L Tribute ASAT Classic to more of a PAF type sound without routing the body to fit a full-size humbucker. This matches perfectly with the Seymour Duncan Hot Stack Tele in the bridge. Now I get the sting of the bridge, and a warm punch from the neck that blends nicely in the middle position. If you want a PAF sound from the neck of your Tele, this one works beautifully. Highly recommended.

Over-hyped & not super high gain

By OCDist

from Los Angeles

Comments about Seymour Duncan STHR1-N Hot Rails Tele Neck Pickup:

After reading all the reviews I decided to get a HR in the neck of my strat. I was expecting a high gain humbucker sounds - what I got was a thin sounding pickup with a little more gain. Rock sounds are okay, metal no way. The best way to describe this pickup is that a HR is like a guitar with stock pickups that are wimpy. You can get squeals easier, but chords do not have the low end or oomph. It's okay, just don't expect some fire-breathing pickup. One thing is nice, since the gain/output is not that much, there is no volume differences between the TexMex and the HR - proof these pickups do not have a lot of output.

Hot Rails

By Skelecaster13

from San Benito, TX

Comments about Seymour Duncan STHR1-N Hot Rails Tele Neck Pickup:

Wonderful pickup! Several people have complimented the cleans I get as well as the heavier distorted sounds I get. I was at first a little hesitant to get this pickup because I've heard people say that the Hot Rails have terrible cleans but those reservations disappeared immediately after installation. It sounds great with the Hot Rails in the bridge and I highly recommend it.

Awesome Neck Pickup

By Zack

from Salt Lake City, Utah

Comments about Seymour Duncan STHR1-N Hot Rails Tele Neck Pickup:

The Hot Rails neck pickup for Telecasters is absolutely fantastic! I haven't found a style of music that it can't handle. Clean, you get a smooth, full, sound; distorted, it can go from a light overdrive to an aggressive metal tone. It will adapt to whatever you are playing. Some reviews say that this pickup doesn't have a good clean sound; that is untrue. If you are skeptical about buying one of these, don't be. You won't be dissapointed.

Telle hot rail neck pick up

By mike

from Bancroft, michigan

Comments about Seymour Duncan STHR1-N Hot Rails Tele Neck Pickup:

I just installed the new duncan tele hot rail neck pickup in my peavey generation(tele)guitar, along with a hot rail tele bridge pick up. The neck blends real well with the bridge pickup but a little smoother. I used 500k pots instead of the traditional 250k. Neck is usefull for jazz, blues, soft tones, as well as shredding. Bridge is for heavier tones, but if you roll back the volume you can pull off some twang too. Along with vintage rock. I really like the hot rail tele set for all kinds of music. Just bought samarian cobalt pick ups for my USA tele they kick but too. you wont be dissapointed...

Great pickups

By ********

from Michigan

Comments about Seymour Duncan STHR1-N Hot Rails Tele Neck Pickup:

I just installed these Seymour Duncan Hotrails in both positons on a MIM Fender Telecaster and they sound great. The pickups bring alot fuller tones than the stock pickups that came on the guitar. When I got it back i tryed it compared to a American Tele and most people liked the sound of my MIM. I would install these on any telecaster in the future!
