Great for a TELE - opinion seconded!

Comments about Seymour Duncan SM1-N Vintage Mini Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup:

Neck position on my Nashville Tele, sounds really amazing - so much so that I felt compelled to write a review (something I never do!). It manages to keep the Tele flavor, but with more sonic possibilities. Ordered a custom pickguard from Warmoth to complement it (see picture). Guitar Center delivered in a snap and I had it installed in a weekend. The other reviews helped me decide on this, so I am glad to contribute to the good vibe

Comments about Seymour Duncan SM1-N Vintage Mini Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup:

I was looking for a Neck pup for my Tele that had a Warm Vintage Tone but with a bit of sparkle and spank when pushed. It is also very articulate and had great pick attack. This pup does it all and more.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SM1-N Vintage Mini Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup:

I paired this neck pup with a SD SM3b in the bridge of my Les Paul Special. Couldn't be happier! What a terrific combo in the LP Special. I've always loved the sound of Firebird pups, and this neck pup is pretty true to the original ones. It's warm and clear, but has a little edge to it too, especially when pushed. Sounds great clean or distorted. Every string and note is audible without messy blur, anywhere on the neck. Kills the old P-100s that came originally in the guitar. And way better than the boutique, hand-wound P-90s I tried in between. These SD pups are way more versatile than either of those pickup types.

I highly recommend these pups for LP Specials, Deluxes and Firebirds. Significant upgrade, IMO.

Plus, the value is tremendous since the price is way reasonable. Don't let the visible S logo on the covers scare you off. You'll get used to it quickly and I actually like hte way it looks and am as proud of the the quality as SD is, so the S logo is appropriate for all to know.

Get this PUP for the neck and the companion SM3B for the bridge and you'll never look back. I've been playing gigs for 35+ years and can't remember being happier with a set of pups.

I don't write many reviews, but just had to after experiencing these pups, just in case someone was on the fence or trying t decide between these or other, similar pickups. Get these, you'll be satisfied.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SM1-N Vintage Mini Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup:

Replaced the stock mini-HB in my Epiphone Alleykat and turned it into a first class stage instrument. Very clean to snarly, full of warm tones, will give you a first class blues sound very early in the volume roll. I installed it with a .22 tone cap to keep it on the bright side.

        Duncan Mini's

        By Daniel Swan

        from MO

Comments about Seymour Duncan SM1-N Vintage Mini Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup:

I owned a Epiphone Firebird copy that had some hot but nasty sounding stock pickups. A buddy had a set of the minis and offered them to me. We installed them and they brought out that 'Fenderish' spank that a true Firebird exibits with the 'growl' of a humbucker. Great pickup.
Surface wears/tarnishes. Doesn't hold up to acidic skin well.
Gets the sound at a good price.

I have a Highwai 1 tele that i just put this pickup in. It's very responsive and has wonderful tone. It works best for ryhem guitar bt you can get some nice lead riffs out of it too.

just what I was looking for

        By Mike-awfNS

Comments about Seymour Duncan SM1-N Vintage Mini Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup:

I wanted a neck pickup for my stadard tele that was somewhere between the brightness of a single-coil and the darkness of a full size humbucker. The SM-1 fits the bill. Well-balanced lows and highs with just a touch of chime.

        Duncan SM1-N Pickup

        By Howard from Jersey

        from Stockton, NJ

Comments about Seymour Duncan SM1-N Vintage Mini Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup:

I put this pickup in my telecaster in the neck position. It's more clear and has more output than the stock pickup and isn't as muddy on the bass end. It's the same pickup Fender uses in the Hot Rod '52 Telecaster. I've been playing Teles forever and this is a great mod.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SM1-N Vintage Mini Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup:

These pickups will be the best U will ever own if U like the warm clean tone of the Les Paul or Firebird, however if U like the more metallic kinky sound these pickups are not for you. But these personally are the best pickups I've ever owned besides the standard Les Paul pickups!
