Overview

The high output Seymour Duncan Full Shred SH-10 7-string pickup brings joy to shredders and metal-heads everywhere. The Seymour Duncan Full Shred pickup is revered for its top-end clarity and its crisp, well-defined low end. Its aggressive midrange is great for capturing clear, tight tone during heavy rhythms and speed riffs. The Full Shred pickup's 2 symmetrical coils and short Allen head pole pieces produce a more intense, focused magnetic field while the Alnico 5 magnet maintains an organic attack and feel.

The Seymour Duncan Full Shred is a perfect humbucker for rock, heavy metal, speed metal, and any music featuring fast, aggressive, solo playing. It comes with a 4-conductor hookup cable for versatile switching options. The Full Shred pickup and matches well with Seymour Duncan's SFX-04 Twin Tube Mayhem for ultimate heaviness.

To meet the playing needs of a growing fan base of 7-string guitar players, Seymour Duncan released the modified Full Shred and several of their most popular pickups in specifically re-designed versions to capture the deeper tones and wider range of sound found in the new generation of 7-stringed electric guitars.

Applications:
The 7-string Full Shred is a pickup with high-output tone for heavy rhythms and speed riffs. Used for classic rock, heavy rock, hip hop, fusion, and aggressive solo playing.

Complete setup:
The Full Shred neck pickup has reduced output and more treble for tonal versatility.

Guitars:
For balanced and warm instruments. Works especially well with rosewood fingerboards.

Players:
Riggs/Rob Zombie (bridge), Phil Campbell/Motorhead (bridge), Chris Rest/Lagwagon (bridge)

Made in the USA:
Semour Duncan arms the Full Shred 7-string pickup with a black cover and produces them at their factory in Santa Barbara, California. The carefully crafted Seymour Duncan Full Shreds made their debut at the January 2010 NAMM show in Los Angeles.

Expected Nothing Less from a Seymour Duncan Pickup

By michael demma

from Flower Mound Texas

The tone from the Full Shred is exactly what I was hoping for. While cleans sound warm and punchy, this pickup really shines when distorted. The Full Shred produces chords from a balanced mixture of the individual notes. Solo notes ring into harmonics and sustain longer. I can also pick slightly more subtly to achieve the same effect. I had considered the JB/JAZZ combination for my guitar but tend to play distorted more often so the Full Shred was a better choice for me. Mission accomplished Team Seymour Duncan. I installed this pickup in the neck position of a 7 string Ibanez Prestige RG 2027XVV. The stock V7 and V8 pickups were muddy which is disappointing since they are installed in the higher end Jem and Prestige models. Pickup installation was a snap. Physically the poles lined up perfectly with the strings. Wiring diagrams provided made the soldering easy. I was able to achieve split as well as full humbucker modes using the 5 way switch.
