GREAT, but not for cleans.

I use this on a customized Fender Mexi Fat Strat with the Seymour Duncan Invader at the bridge and 2 single Fender pickups. Okay, first of all, the Invader is POWER, it's great for "Punk", any rock, even metal! It's SO loud, like when I switch from it to the Fender Single pickups, there's a dramatic decrease in volume. The only bad thing about this, though, is that it's horrible at cleans. I use the Fender singles for cleans, but when it comes to any distortion, I always switch to my Invader. MUST BUY!

Crunchy!

My guitarist finally brought his synister gates signiture schecter to practice. I noticed right away that it was sporting two invaders. Since I am building a guitar, I've been wondering what pkups to use. This pkup is serious! I've heard that it was kind of muddy sounding, but I didn't hear any king of tone short of wonderful. It brings out alot of warmth without compromising clarity. Moreover, it can handle gross amounts of overdrive. THat alone makes all the diffrence when you want a good heavy sound. The diffrence in sound between this pkup and an active set up is not what I expected. To my surprise, I perfered the passive invader to an emg 81. Check this one out!

I have been playing for over a decade, and have been building custom guitars for 6 years, and in my opinion, this is the best pickup I have ever played. I love the chunky, hot sound of the Invader, and couldnt be more impressed! These are the ONLY humbuckers I use in my personal guitars, as well as the guitars I build. I play Vox, Fender, and Marshall amps (no pedals), and the Invader shines with all of them. Great buy for the money!

One Mean Pickup!

My friend had this pickup and i was blown away when I heard it. It has the most crunch of any pickup i've heard by at least 2x. I got one put in my strat and it was an awesome choice. I play alot of Speed and thrash metal and It's great. My only complaint is it's a little muddy when you have really high gain and doesn't sound good for arpeggios and things like that. But if you are a rhythm player or just want more crunch i highly recommend this over any other pickup.

Great Pickup.

I put one of these in my Strat (bridge), after my friend took it out of his Tom Delonge strat and put an EMG-81 in. This pickup made a huge difference in all of my sounds, the distortion was much cleaner and crisp and the cleans were high and crunchy. Just a warning though, if you want single coil tones, do not put this in your guitar, it overdrives most amps on the clean channel and sometimes using the two upper single coils on a strat doesn't sound that great. I play mostly distorted or crunchy so this is perfect for me, it's really hot, sometimes gets out of control hot though. Overall, it's an insane pickup for any musicians from punk to metal, not too great for funk or jazz and lighter music where clean tones are needed.
