Awesome!

Wow, I installed this thing in my Fender HSS and this pickup rocks! The out put is just enough, but not crazy and over the top. The tone is nice and thick, harmonics are awesome, and the sustain seems to go on forever. I own a Les Paul, Ibanez, and Fender and two have Duncan pickups, and one DiMarzio(Ibanez). It's just an opinion, but I think Duncan makes the best PUP's out there. DiMarzios are quite good, but I plan on putting Duncans in that Ibanez soon! The Alnico Pro II's in my LP are just as awesome as this SH-5. Way to go Duncan, you guys builq awesome stuff!! Thanks!!

Balance

This pickup is all about balance. I installed it in my PRS Artist III and wow. All frequencies are perfectly. The highs are very distinct with balanced presence without being harsh in the slightest. Mids have all the punch that they should. The bass is very defined and clear. The bass frequencies truly come through while maintaining clarity and focus. This pickup will let you do whatever you want.

This pickup is thick !!

Bought the Duncan Custom to replace the weak stock pickup in my Washburn (wi-64). Needless to say, the sound is very thick, it is everything you think it is. I even get a very good clean sound out of it. It cuts through the mix very well, make my guitar sound as good as just about anybody.

Brilliant pickup.

I bought it in 1985 & got it fixed at the bridge position of my Yamaha Studio Lord SL400S (Les Paul copy 1980). After replaceng it with the stock Yamaha pickup I noticed a remarkable change in the overall sound quality of my guitar. The sound became very much pronounced, punchier and penetrating. I got its wiring arranged in the Parallel/Series manner by drilling a hole near the guitar pots cavity area & installed a small toggle switch. In the Series mode its gives elevated midrange boost perfect for solo with lot of sustain and punchier chord work as well. In parrallel mode its sound becomes more clear and bright with a little decrease in power and I again found it very useful for both solo and chord works if you need more presence and crispy bright sound. This pickup has a cermaic magnet and so its sound is not that warm and creamy as compare to Alnico magnet but it is not harsh & I find it very impressive for any style of playing. Its works very well with any amp at clean or dirty sound settings and especially do wonders with the overdrive and distortion effect pedals.

Holy Crap!!!

This pickup is AWESOME!!! I put this in a Schecter Omen 6 and lets just say it doesn't sound like a $300 guitar anymore! With this pickup my guitar sounds better than its older brother the C-1. This is a very high output pickup and is very warm. The lows are awesome, no muddy sounds and playing harmonics is ridiculously easy. This is a must buy!!!
