For precise enunciation of those lightning-like jazz licks.

The Seymour Duncan SH-2N Jazz Model Pickup is suitable for musicians who need an accurate, clear tone for fast jazz runs. The brighter sound has slightly less output and is a good match with most pickups. A popular combination is The Jazz Model in the neck with either a JB (SH-4) or Duncan Custom (SH-5) in the bridge.

  • Seymour Duncan Jazz Pickup

As reviewed by David Holst on 5/21/2008

I have the Duncan Jazz pickup in the neck position and a Duncan Pearly Gates in the bridge position of a Hertiage CM 140, a Les Paul style guitar. I run the guitar through a Vox Valtronic amp. The sound is amazing. The Jazz pickup provides a nice, rich, warm sound. It puts out great sustain also without losing tone definition.

  • Nice!

I have one of these in the neck of Les Paul Classic. When played clean through a solid-state amp, with the tone rolled back, the jazz sound is amazing. People are always surprised at how good a non-hollowbody can sound. Then plug it into my tube Marshall, and crank up the gain, and it sounds great for metal leads - allows individual notes to sound out during fast runs. I believe Dave Mustaine has one of these in his neck too.
