Warm and smooth with great sustain.

The Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 Model Electric Guitar Pickup is built with the same kind of enameled wire, nickel-plated studs, and balanced coil windings that humbucker inventor Seth Lover used in his first pickups. It looks and sounds just like a '59.

  • Neck Pickup

As reviewed by Johnn Harbringer on 5/17/2007

This thing is the best neck pickup for sweet clean tones and striking bluesy sounds! i played this in a Jackson Rand Rhoads a couple of times, and it rocked put this mean tone machine in a solid mahogany body, and you can rock out 24/7

  • Gibson SG with 59s

As reviewed by Christian on 3/1/2010

I have a 1994 Gibson SG that came with the 490R & T pickups. In 2000, I replaced the bridge with a gibson "TI" signature pickup and replaced the neck with a Seymour 59. The idea being that after some actual play time, I would one day commit to running the matching pickup in either the bridge or neck. Well I ended up replacing the Gibson "TI" signature bridge pickup with the Seymour 59 bridge for several reasons. All I can say now is wow! Fatter high-ends, warmer mids and just overall more versatile tones. Not to mention the 59 Zebras look awesome in my black SG standard. Great Pickups.

  • This thing ROCKS!!!

As reviewed by Avery Holt on 7/28/2009

I just installed this pickup on my Epiphone Les Paul, and I am utterly speechless on the improvement it has made. I play with a Fender Blues Jr. and i have never heard it so crunchy just with the natural tube overdrive than I have heard it with this pickup!!! From screaming highs, so bluesy lows, this thing can do it all!!! You will not be disappointed with this pickup!!! Mad props to Seymour Duncan!!!
