I was changing out the stock pickups in my American Strat for noiseless ones and I happened upon this pickup while browsing online. I put a hot pickup in the bridge and I was looking for a more mellow tone for the bridge position for a change of pace. I was incredibly impressed with the tone the Cool Rails put out in my Strat. It's a full, warm tone in clean and surprisingly ruthless with heavy gain. Check out the SD website for tone samples to hear for yourself. I'd also recommend the SVR-1 Vintage Rails for the middle position.
Well Ive tryed the Seymour duncan vintage staggered and Ive tried the sermour duncan hot rails and now Ive tried the cool rails, and i have to say its my favorite of the 3. I use the cool rail in the neck position and I get sweet smooth tones! I just love this pickup. Its a little more powerful than the hot rail and also a little more clear. If you like to play jazz or fusion rock or any type of rock you'll love this pick up!!!!
