Blackout the bad hum, crank up the tone.

Seymour Duncan AHB-1b 7-String Phase I Active Bridge Humbucker is a direct retrofit for passive 7-string humbuckers made by Seymour Duncan and DiMarzio®. This Blackouts humbucker provides extended frequency response with less compression for your 7-string electric guitar. Seymour Duncan engineers have captured the tone players want in an active pickup with the benefits of balanced inputs.

Not only do Seymour Duncan Blackouts have less hum than most active humbucker pickups, they also have more lows, more highs, and more output. Simply put, the Duncan Blackouts have more tone than most active pickups. Players will find far fewer problems with hum, especially near computer monitors and fluorescent lighting.

Many USA-made active humbuckers use unbalanced inputs in a differential preamp. The problem is, an unbalanced differential preamp is not very effective at canceling hum. Seymour Duncan's engineers figured out how to capture the tone that guitarists want in an active pickup, but using balanced inputs. The result is 12dB to 14dB less noise, plus more lows, more highs, and more output.

All Seymour Duncan Blackouts pickups include all necessary mounting hardware, including pots, jack, and a battery clip.

Seymour Duncan's AHB-1b Phase 1 bridge humbucker has more tone than many other active pickup. Put it in the cart and give your tone a big boost.

As reviewed by Isaiah Davis on 7/25/2011

Wow Is all I could say at first, I felt like a kid again when I got my first guitar and could do nothing but play and smile, The sound of this Pup is not how I thought It would sound, I bought It with the thoughts that It may be muddy like I've heard or the other sayings of it not being clear. When I got It and installed It I couldn't have been happier, The articulation In the low end is what surprised me, It was clear and It just growled so nicely. Clean sounds are very nice as well, with a dark sounding low end that I haven't heard In any other pickup, and the overdriven sounds of this monster are insane! My tone has only improved from this pickup and I would recommend It to anyone that wants a very heavy sound In the studio.
