Extremely poor vocal microphone.

By Thomas Wright

from Corvallis, OR

Comments about Sennheiser e822S Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone:

I bought two of these for the two new female vocalists in my band because they were short on cash, needed microphones, and there were many reviews here saying that they were great vocal microphones, comparable to the standard Shure SM58s we have been satisfied using for many years. These microphone performed very poorly because if the girls would get off to the side of them even a tiny bit, or have their mouths more than half an inch away from the microphone for any reason, the microphone signal would die off extremely. Nothing like the proximity response of an SM58, or even the cheap AKG microphones which I had gotten a couple of years ago that we had been lending them to use, which actually worked just fine and in fact, were pretty comparable to the SM58s. We were so disappointed with the performance because of these problems that we had to switch the microphones out after only one set of performance. They were just not doing the job at all. I would have returned them for a refund, but in the packing materials that came with them, it stated that due to health issues, microphones are exempt from the return policy. Lame. So, now I am stuck with them and they absolutely will not do the job they were purchased for. They seem to be working ok for close miking of my guitar amplifier into the sound system. But for vocal mics, two thumbs down. I expect enough people have had this bad experience with them, that is the reason they are being sold so cheaply now. I am writing this to maybe save someone else from a similar unsatisfactory experience.

Great Microphone.

By Nathan

from Jacksonville, FL

Comments about Sennheiser e822S Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone:

We use one of these, as well as a e835. This is not a bad little mic, but it seems to feedback more than the e835. That is my only complaint though. Great uncolored vocal representation.

Comments about Sennheiser e822S Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone:

I bought one about 2 weeks ago to bring out my vocals. I knew that the brand put out good quality items and I am here to tell you I got a great bargain. It's hard to put it down once you get going.

Great for the price!

By Anselmo

from Newport Beach, CA

Comments about Sennheiser e822S Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone:

This is a very sturdy mic. It won't let you down whenever you need it. When you compare it with other mics in the same price range, you'll find out that it is one of the best options. It's great for scratch vocals and is a very good first mic. My only suggestion for the guys from AKG is that they could make it sound a little bit more clear, but that's it.
