Bright kid in the room

By Glynn

from Corpus Christi, TX

Comments about Sennheiser E815s-c Microphone:

Sometimes you find a bright kid that doesn't sit on the front row. That what this mic is like. Its not as popular as other Sennheisers, and you don't see it advertised heavily, but its a solid performer. I bought three a few years ago as spare vocal mics for sit in players, but I found that they're great on horns. Saxes have a thick chesty sound. On trumpets its clear and cuts through. But I like it best with trombones and flugelhorn. The mic is not heavy on lows and the highs are not strident, but it's natural lower mids give a smooth, warm, chesty sound to the horns. Its a decent vocal mic, though I find I need to roll a little extra low end on the EQ. Its a solid bang for the buck.
