We just got 4 of these for a vocal group. Tested them side-by-side with a well-known handheld condenser from a competing brand and the sound of the e865 capsule smoked the other guy's. Brighter highs, fuller lows, just a really natural vocal sound. Plus, the unit feels solid in your hand. The one drawback is that the g3 units don't come with a rack-mount adapter. You have to buy it separate.
I don't own this microphone but we used to use these where I worked when I was a production tech for the Las Vegas-Clark County Library.
We'd get all kinds of acts coming through. A lot of talking heads, but when a singing act needed a wireless mic invariably we used these. The Shure wireless were ok. Sturdy but didn't sound nearly as good as these sennheisers. The sennheisers do use up battery power fast. Not more than an hour battery life from 2 AAAs.
