'Phones with features
These headphones have some very nice features that many other headphones don't execute very well. I love the fact that the padding and cable can be replaced. I have had other headphones that needed to be thrown out because the cable broke or the padding was worn out. The collapsible earpieces save a ton of room. These headphones can be extremely loud, but because they isolate outside noise well, you don't necessarily NEED to turn them up. I have found them to be pretty accurate, but I think the midrange is a bit scooped and the lows and highs are a bit boosted. I find them to be very useful when listening to a mix on many different sets of speakers - many people listen on their monitors and in their car...but don't forget to listen with headphones as well! These have helped me balance out a few mixes here and there. Comfortable to wear for extended listening, and such a great value!

Great Value for a Great Product
We bought these recently for my son who is a fledgling DJ. He wanted Mix-quality headphones that allowed him to record and sample his techno tracks (he uses Reason with great success). He also wanted to use them for his raves, in order to cutdown on the background noise while he is DJ'ing in our basement. The Sennheisers are great in both respects. Sound reproduction and noise reduction are excellent for headphones at this price. We both highly recommend this product (not to mention it lets the rest of the family hear the television :-).

Live Sound Headphones
When I started recording shows at clubs, I realized I needed some headphones that could keep out the sound. These headphones do it, and do it well...especially for the price($100)! I take these out to clubs and use them in my home studio for reference, and they don't even look worn yet. The even levels compinsate for my krk 5 monitors that are lacking low end. Good buy!

A good value for the price
These headphones are very good for the price. The bass response is very good and the highs are also reflected well. The headphones are constructed well (better than the Behringer HPX3000) and the cord is thicker. They are very comfortable to wear for hours at a time. I would recommend getting these if you are an active musician.

HD280 Pro in the Home Studio
In my humble estimation, these are the best choice for general studio duties (home or professional). The bass may lack, but my solution there is to back fill with the studio monitors. The noise attenuation on the HD280Pro is certainly adequate enough to block out the mids and upper freqs from the monitors so you get the whole picture.

Fantastic 'Phones.
The biggest misconception I have noticed when looking at reviews for monitor headphones is that people buy them for recreation or they buy them and don't understand exactly what they're used for. As monitor headphones, these Sennheisers are very effective at noise cancellation and demonstrating clarity at really all acoustic ranges. DO NOT buy any monitor 'phones just looking for that big bass range everyone loves to get out of their listening-for-pleasure music. You'll rarely find it. Monitor headphones are geared toward delivering the most unbiased and clearest sound possible for attention to detail in all acoustic depths. These headphones are a glorious, cost-effective addition to my gear as I study recording/mixing art at Columbia College Chicago, and I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to listen to a purer form of most any musical piece at a very agreeable price.

Amazing Phones
I got these about 6 months ago and wow. They're probably the best value on the market for sound quality. Super-crisp through the whole range with no noticeable dips in frequency response. I also use them to DJ, so the swivel cups are nice. And they isolate sound like crazy, which also helps when spinning in a loud environment.

Insane bang-for-buck value
After careful research, I bought these headphones about 6 months ago, and they have yet to let me down. Aside from the amazing qudio quality -- which has been a priceless tool for getting perfectly balanced mixes -- are all the little things that make this a lifetime purchase. The earpieces fold to 90 degrees, easily permitting flat storage to prevent accidental damage in transit, and any parts that are subject to wear and tear are fully modular. I made the mistake of leaving these plugged into my laptop, which slid off of my couch, plug-first, onto the floor, leaving the 1/8" plug nicely bent. Went to Sennheiser's website and was amazed to find replacement cables, ear foam padding and even top foam padding replacements. For the low price, there is no reason to buy anything else! Only downsides include bass that seems lacking from time to time, and if you're a hothead, the earphones can get quite hot during extended sessions. Else these are the last headphones you will ever buy.

Sennheiser HD-280 Pro
I have had a pair of these headphones since, well i cant remember when I got them because I have never had a problem with them. They are great for recording in a studio or listining to music just for fun. They cancel out almost all of the noise from around you allowing you to be able to hear the music very clearly.

My Studio Headphones
I use these in my home studio for monitoring. The noise canceling works really well. My only complaint is that the bass isn't that strong but overal I would recomend these headphones to anyone who needs a good pair of cans for listening and creating music
