This is the best all-around mouthpiece for getting a dark, warm sound. It is appropriate for playing classical, or anything where you don't want the volume and edge of a metal mpc. It is great for practicing, because it's easy to play. I have tried this against many other plastic mpcs, and this one is so much fuller and warmer in sound, it is just a world of difference!

This mouthpieces is perfect for whatever you need it for. Not only is it a perfect mouthpiece for beginners and experienced players, but it is also cheap compared to its retail price. I highly recommend getting this

      Worth the Upgrade

      By Kristen Murphy

      from California

Comments about Selmer Paris S80 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

It's a huge step up from what came with my horn
I'm renting a Tenor to play a Gig and this was a huge improvement over what the rental came with. All the tones are solid and full. I bought it because I use the same model on my pro Alto Sax.
I know it will hold up for a decade or more.
I didn't shop around too much. It seemed like a decent price.

this was only the second mouthpiece i have ever used but it is amazing. it feels more free flowing and more controlling than the other one i had. dynamics and effects are easy to handle and is just over all a great mouthpiece.

C* User for over 7 years

      By t-sax1122

Comments about Selmer Paris S80 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

Because it is simply the best all around mouthpiece that I have tried. I first tried this mouthpiece out when I was in 8th grade and was simply blown away. I have tried metal mouthpieces, but you don't get the same rich, dark tone that I personally prefer in a Jazz tenor. The only reason I have gone through 3 is the first C* I got was used and I used cleaning solution on it(ruins hard rubber mouthpieces), the 2nd tragically cracked due to extremely cold WI weather and I was doing a lot of traveling in a performing group, and I have had the 3rd for the past 3 years. I have been a C* user/fan for over 7 years. I would highly recommend this mouthpiece to anyone.

Comments about Selmer Paris S80 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I bought this MP about 3 years ago and was immediately surprised by how easily it played and the great rich tone you get from it. I still use it today. Great mouthpiece and I recommend this to anybody who wants to have a great sounding multi-genre mouthpiece.

      Selmer C*

Comments about Selmer Paris S80 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

The Selmer C8 may look like a cheap-average MP at first, but when you play it, youll change your mind. It has a very rich-dark professional tone but is great for any begginer. Its great for any style of music and is a great starter MP for jazz because it is easy to form a vibrato. I suggest this MP to anybody, begginer, or professional

Comments about Selmer Paris S80 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I played this mouthpiece and the sound was BEAUTIFUL! The low notes sounded easily and with a spectacular tone. The only problem I had was it didn't really fit my sax. But that was because of the sax. This mouthpiece rules!!!

      PERFECT!!!!!

      By Jonathan-LugD1

Comments about Selmer Paris S80 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I have played on a Selmer since I first jumped to Tenor in 7th grade. I am now a Sophomore in High School. I now have two of the Selmer mouthpieces for tenor, and 1 for alto. This is the best Hard Rubber mouthpiece out there. I have a S80, Eddie Daniels (Rovner) Ligature, and I am using a 3.5-4 Vandoren reed. This is the perfect setup. However, you will want to experiment, and find the right one for you.

      Excellent Classical Mouthpiece

      By A.C.

      from PA

Comments about Selmer Paris S80 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:

I purchased a Yamaha tenor sax three years ago and had been playing on the stock mouthpiece that it came with because I didn't really know any better. However, my teacher, who is a very experienced sax player, recommended this mouthpiece to me to help provide me with a richer, warmer sound. Let's just say I can't imagine why I ever played on anything else! This mouthpiece is a necessity for musicians at all levels because it provides you with a beautiful tone for classical playing. I expected it to be somewhat difficult adjusting my embouchure to this mouthpiece, but after a few days it felt perfectly comfortable and natural. I would also recommend that you purchase it off this website because of the discounted price, as this mouthpiece tends to be a bit pricey. Even so, it was well worth the money! However, if you are interested in jazz, this mouthpiece is probably not the one to try. But for classical, it's the only way to go!
