Perfect replacement for my Wittner Taktell metronome

Comments about Seiko SQ50-V Quartz Metronome:

My old Wittner Taktell metronome broke after years of use from classical piano training in my teens through starting to learn guitar as an adult. What I loved most about it was the wood block sound and being able to pick up counting on the next beat if I missed one. I tried a few digital metronomes, but did not like any of them. The beeping was annoying, and the sound got lost when practicing with my guitar plugged into the amp. None of them had an option to disable the emphasis on the first beat, which meant I had to wait a full count if I missed a beat.

This Seiko metronome has a wonderful wood block sound, and it is LOUD! I can hear it even when practicing with my guitar amplified. There's a choice of two pitches--I prefer the lower one--and the volume is adjustable. Also, it's a steady beat so, if I miss one, I can pick counting on the next. The case is plastic, but it feels solid and well-made. I love the "ratchet" feel of the simple dial; it has standard timing intervals from 40 - 208 bpm. Definitely beats having to adjust a counterweight like with my old Taktell. This metronome is a worthy replacement, and I look forward to enjoying years of use from it in my practice sessions. If you're looking for a metronome, I highly recommend this little Seiko.

    Great metronome!

Comments about Seiko SQ50-V Quartz Metronome:

I had an older model for 30+ years. I dropped it on the floor and one of the battery leads disconnected from the circuit board. It was too much trouble to try to fix it so I just bought a new one. Great click sound, not that high pitched electronic beep sound that you can't hear if there's noise or the TV is on. There are two types of clicks, high and low, with a flashing light and a volume control to control the click volume. So glad they still make this product.

Comments about Seiko SQ50-V Quartz Metronome:

No complaints. It works exactly as it is supposed to. I use the metronome for memorizing fret board notes, octaves, etc on my bass guitar as my instructor recommended to help stay focused. It makes all the difference, and the SQ50 works great, and makes it easy to select the bpm, and increase the bpm as my memorization improves. I plan to use this for a long time as I continue to develop my memorization and skills such as maintaining a steady beat as I play. Very happy with this product.
