My God...clear your schedule

By Michael Renwick

Comments about Seagull Merlin Mahogany SG Dulcimer Guitar:

This is hands down the most fun I've had playing an instrument. I have been playing guitar for 13 years but this thing is so fun. I don't know if its the key that its tuned in that gets me or just the fact that there are NO bad notes. When you slide up the neck or down it is amazing.... This is a must have! I am going back to get another one today for my girlfriend. Hence forth we will now be known as "The Dueling Dulcimers" I didn't put it down for 9 hrs.

Seagull Merlin is great fun and really adictive

By STEPHEN

Comments about Seagull Merlin Mahogany SG Dulcimer Guitar:

I'm really happy with the Seagull Merlin dulcimer guitar (Mahogany) I recently got. The diatonic running (D Maj) makes it really east to get started even for complete beginners because its hard to play a wrong note. It has a pretty full sound for such a small instrument, in part thanks to the pair of high-D strings tuned in unison. With only 7 frets and 3 of its 4 strings tuned to D you would think this thing would be pretty limited but its not. Once you spend a little time with it you find its great for creating melodies for songs and playing with various chord voicings. Give this a try if you're looking for something for inspiration that is a little different that is also easy to play. I'm looking forward to spending a lot more time with it and also get my family interested in it because its the closest thing to instant musical gratification for beginners.

Seagull Merlin Mahogany SG Dulcimer Guitar

Comments about Seagull Merlin Mahogany SG Dulcimer Guitar:

This is a very cool instrument. It lends itself to other tunings other than D as well. It uses ball end strings so if you can't obtain the factory strings, you may need to buy them individually. This is a generally happy instrument that makes a pleasant melodic sound regardless of the players ability. I would highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in music or to seasoned pro alike. There's a lot of songs locked up in this little instrument. The sound is very full in spite of the diminutive size.

Amazing!

Comments about Seagull Merlin Mahogany SG Dulcimer Guitar:

I recently purchased this at guitar center in Southington CT, and instantly fell in love. I'm a bassist of 12+ years but I saw this dulcimer and it literally blew me away. I have such a hard time putting down. My suggestion is that anyone who plays an instrument go buy a strumstick dulcimer from seagull merlin and you too just may fall in love!

Comments about Seagull Merlin Mahogany SG Dulcimer Guitar:

So much fun to play! I read a little about them before making the purchas and I agree with most people, it is a bit limited, but what isn't! Right out of the box it was fun. I just got back into playing guitar (after too many years to say) and the guitar is a little challenging for these old fingers. But, the Merlin is easy and quick to pick up. If you are not sure, try one. Put on a Youtube video and follow the presenter and just like that, you'll be playing a song. Have fun.

Comments about Seagull Merlin Mahogany SG Dulcimer Guitar:

This is the best invented hybrid I have played--impossibly easy, yet full of complex possibilities if you know what you're doing!
So easy to hammer out simple progression ideas, then translate to another instrument or record the Merlin itself!
Genuinely, I cannot put it down!
