If you're in the market for a nice guitar you owe it to yourself to try it. You'll be amazed, nothing in its price range comes close to its great sound. Tried every guitar in the store within its price range and beyond and kept coming back to the Seagull. Nothing matched the feel or sound of this model. The wider neck was a perfect match for me, might not be for those of you with smaller hands. Try it out, this brand just sells itself and you will see why.
I purchased this guitar about 1 year ago and loved playing it. Looks great, sounds great I noticed that the action was a little high so shaved the saddle to my favorite height. I have noticed two months later the action is changing so I measured it with a straight edge and it has bowed up 1/8" I now have to send it back for repair or replacement Maybe this is just a fluke thing
The guitar is perfect when played with a high-gage set of Phosphor Bronze strings. The lower the gage the worst sound quality in my opinion. But still a great guitar!
This guitar is a dream. The woods used are beautiful and the sound that comes from it is so rich, it just touches my heart everytime I play. I am so glad that I went with the solid wood construction and it promises to sound even better with age. I can only say good things about this guitar and highly recommend it to everyone.
Ive been playing for a year now and ive been looking for a good new acoustic. I was impressed when i heard the sound coming out of this guitar. Its voice is one of the best ive heard it and matches some of the taylors and martins ive played.
Several years ago I worked in a music store selling guitars. The one guitar that impressed me most at that time was a Guild acoustic that absolutely reverberated with sound when brought into tune. This is the closest in tone to that guitar I have ever found. It covers the tonal spectrum from low to high in a beautiful balance. This much quality at this price is amazing. I was a little worried about the wider neck, but adjusted in 2 days and found it actually made string separation much easier.
I received this guitar as a christmas gift two nights ago ( yes i got it early) and i've been blown away. For the past few months while i've been in the market for a new guitar, i have been playing all that you could imagine: Taylor, Martin, Breedlove, Parkwood, you name it i've played it twice. In my local guitar shop they dropped their taylor and martin guitars and only carry canadian brands such as seagull and norman and art and lutherie, but they still have a few martins and taylor so you are able to compare. this guitar has a beautiful warm tone and mixes the trebles and the low bass notes marvelously. i was looking for the warm bassy style and this guitar blew the martin d-18 out of the water!! every single guitar sounds different, so its a good idea to play a guitar before you buy it, but this is a guitar that i would recommend to anyone. If you can get your hands on one, go ahead and compare it to the big boys. my money says you'll be shocked.
