I won't lie to you, I'm a Seagull guy. I went in looking for a great guitar at a great price, and while I was open to veer away from my coveted Seagull-made guitars if the right deal were to be available, I simply couldn't do it. I tried out a bunch of different guitars in my price range, and the Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QI(T) won, hands down. First of all, the tuning machines are basically the solid chrome Ping tuning machine heads disguised with Seagull logos. I love this because I am very picky about my tuning machines and often swap out my guitars' machine heads for said Ping parts. Next, the nut width of the neck is narrower than the standard Seagull nut width, which makes it more comparable to a Martin or Taylor or something of that nature. This makes the transition for a non-Seagull acoustic player a little smoother. Third, the action is comfortable, but not too comfortable. If the action is too low and too easy to push down, sound is compromised, this is not so here. I believe this is the softest action a guitar can have without taking away from the sound or causing buzzing or things of that nature. The Godin electronics are flawless, and sleekly designed. As in the "Rustic" name, even the electronics stay true to this look, and the style and functionality are both top of the line. This is one of the few (if not only) Seagull in this price range with a cutaway, and that is important because it allows for more flexibility and mobility on the neck for those who like to utilize every available fret on the guitar. The overall look is nice. At first, I thought the sunburst was a little too much, but after a couple hours of staring at it, I have grown to love it. Finally the most important thing about this guitar is the sound. The guitar possesses a very full, vibrant, diverse sound. There is a slight twang in the timbre, but it is not overbearing, leaving for a warm and perfect acoustic sound for almost any style or application. I do not believe a better guitar can be bought for this price, but I must point out the negative. As with my old Seagull, the wood feels rather soft, so with some ruckus playing and misguided strumming, the wood can wear away and damage the surface more easily than other guitars. This is a small price to pay for an otherwise very powerful acoustic-electric package. Besides, I like when my guitars get that worn-in look, so this is not at all a negative for me personally. I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a guitar as in such a short time; it has grown so dear to my heart.

I've had this guitar for a year now. The sound has softened some with use. Still looks great but the wood is soft and blemishes very easy. Chrome tuners are great, action is good and it hold its tuning very well. The 6E string has developed an annoying buzz somewhere in the body and the 1E string has stayed a bit twangy. Most annoying is the Q1T pickup. It sounds very washed out either through an amp or into recording equipment.

Outstanding!

By Andy

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Went into GC looking for a Breedlove, but the Seagulls were placed adjacent. Played a couple of the Breedloves, but then picked up this guitar - which simply sounded brighter, louder, and crisper than some of the higher priced Breedloves I played. I knew I had to have it. In the 2 months I've owned it, I've noticed how easy it is to play fingerstyle on it. Setup, out of the store, was excellent. Godin strings that come standard aren't great (changed them within a couple of weeks of purchase), and I continue to experiment with different strings for best sound quality. Tuning holds very well, since I also experiment with different tunings. Great guitar, especially at this price. I can't recommend this enough. It's got me hooked on the Seagull brand...how do I convince my wife that I "need" another Seagull?

Awesome Guitar for Advanced Players Too

By Gresham Worrell

from Charlotte, NC

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I taught myself guitar on a $100 washburn that I got every penny out of within the first few days. When it was time to move up to a REAL guitar I was looking for a Taylor or a Martin. DON'T PAY THREE TIMES AS MUCH AS THIS GUITAR FOR THE SAME PERFORMANCE. This guitar sounds rich and smooth, and is beautiful plugged in. The extra $800+ will simply go to added a solid back and the brand name all your friends have heard of. The Seagull guitars are great custom made guitars out of Canada and this one is well worth giving it a play. Once you play it at GC you will be sold I promise.

Cheap quality

By Ross

from West Hartford, CT

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I own more guitars than I know what to do with, but a void was left in my collection as an acoustic was missing. For months I tried out great guitar after great guitar, but couldn't spare 5 grand for a custom breedlove or 3k for a nice gibson. In the end I got the Seagull. It's got a soft v shape to the neck, all the frets are well dressed and the neck is comfy. The cutaway also makes upper fret access a breeze. It had a nice low sound, but the high strings also have some snap giving the sound of this instrument a lot of life. The preamp also sounds great. It's pretty simple- just volume t & b, but it works wonderfully. For anyone who wants a high quality axe without a high price tag, please do yourself a favour and check one of these out.

totally impessed!

By Don Belisle

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been playing for over 30 years. I was looking for a great sounding acoustic for recording. I tried the Martins, Ovations, Taylors. My current acoustic is a Takamine. But then sitting next to the high dollar Martin I was trying out, was this Seagull. My friend at work suggested at least taking a good look at the Seagull brand from Canada, and to my surprise, I liked the feel better than the Martin. The tone was slightly different than the Martin. I liked what I was hearing! Once I changed the strings out to my preferred sizes, I am like, so amazed in the beautiful tones this axe puts out. Finger picking on this guitar is so much more easier than the others. I liked the 1.72" nut width and their custom V-neck. The neck action will turns some seasoned players heads. It is very comfortable to my grip. Playing for long periods on this neck has less fatigue on my hands. But lets talk about the tone! Very warm and distinctive, plenty of nice ring, bright and crisp, but not edgy at all thru the internal electronics to my DAW. My wife notices the resonance presence it projects, while the balance of the tones is very symmetrical throughout the entire neck. This guitar was very well made! Very light too! These Canadian woods they use are a blessing for the unique tone of this guitar. I have had mine 3 days now, can not put it down! So fun and easy to play. Do yourself a big favor, go play one of these Seagull Guitars. You will see why, 1st. the feel of the neck hits you, then the tone just rolls out like a waterfall of gentle harmonies. I am totally amazed this kind of guitar exists for such a low price. Itۡs a wonderful instrument, one to grow old with. This is my 5th GC guitar. The team at GC has always done me right, they always have a great selection and their staff is very helpful. Don B

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is amazing for the price...I had my mind set on spending between 4-5 hundred bucks..i had it narrowed down in between a Fender and a Yamaha, until I came across the Seagull section. The crisp tone you get from this guitar is like no other in its price range..I love it and so will you.

Sounds and plays like an expensive guitar

By Jim Klaproth

from Pagosa Springs, CO

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had been researching Seagull guitars for years when I first heard one several years ago. Ready to buy, I brought my lady into GC and played almost every brand they had; Taylor, Martin, Breedlove, Gibson, Takamine, and Seagull. They all sounded good, but there was something about the Seagull that set it apart from the rest. The sound was quite balanced, the volumn was fairly loud, and the tonality was excellent. It was also the least expensive guitar that I played that day. The short scale neck and low action also contributed to easier fingering, and it is probably the easiest guitar to play I have ever had (and I have had many excellent ones over the years). After playing it every day for over a month, I fell in love with this one, and it stays in tune even when you bang it hard. Maybe its not the fanciest guitar on the wall, but it has a simple elegant look to it, and for the money, it is outstanding! Try it and see...you can't go wrong with Seagull guitars.

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

When reading a review, I like to know the eperience of the player. I've been performing, writing, and palying since the early 70's and In my opinion this is a wonderful guitar. I can pay what I want for a guitar. No brag just fact. After 3 hours and playing many guitars at my local Guitar Center, I could see no reason to purcase any other guitar than the CW QIT. I am very pleased after 3 weeks of owning it.

Amazing

By Ron Hall

from Salina, OK

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

When I first sat down to play this guitar, I felt the vibration against my torso like no other guitar I had ever played. It has a beautiful voice like no other guitar and feels very natural to play. I'm not a professional player, but I know that this is a high performance guitar that anyone can appreciate and everyone should own. The only drawback I've found is that it is very slightly bottom heavy (in other words, the neck wants to climb) when playing from the seated position. I only noticed it after playing quite a while. It is a very attractive, well-engineered masterpiece of modern technology that the Seagull company should be very proud of and they are, but the price is reasonable just the same. Doing this guitar justice will involve many, many hours of pleasurable practice.

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

There's a very good reason for the strong reviews this guitar gets -- it's just THAT good. To start with, the mids and trebles produce a tone with an ethereal sweetness that I've not heard before from an acoustic guitar. The Entourage's bass tones are, in my opinion, quite ordinary but then this isn't a $1,500+ guitar with solid mahogany or rosewood back and sides. It IS the very best quality acoustic guitar you will find within $500 or so of its price and the best VALUE of ANY. Some have criticized the QIT electronics and I can't comment on that because I've not yet played it through a good acoustic guitar amp. I can tell you that the on-board tuner is a very nice convenience and it tunes dead-on every time. Unless you're looking for "Martin" or "Taylor" on the headstock, you won't be sorry you bought one of these.

I was on a mission to find a great guitar that wasn't made in China, and stumbled upon the Seagull and took it off the wall when I saw that it was made in Canada. The low action and mellowness immediately won me over, and ever since I changed the strings to Martin Silk & Steel .0115 - .47 the beauty of its sound continues to amaze me.

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have already reviewed this guitar once, but I have discovered something special. I am basicly an electric guitar guy. My main squeeze is a Carvin SC6. Anyway I have been experimenting with the action on my Seagull. Right now I have almost no relief in the neck, I have extra light gauge(10's for acoustic) stings on it by Martin with a plain G. The action is 1/16 on the 6th string at the 12th fret and 3/64ths on the isr string. There is no unwanted buzzes and it sounds and plays great!!! Now I do have a light touch but still this is incredible! Hats off to the fret dressers at Seagull!

          By bret Babcock

          from Houston, Texas

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this as an upgrade from the Yamaha FG700S that I began learning guitar on. I chose the Seagull because it is made in North America, sounds fantastic, really like the Cedar top's resonance. The finish is very attractive and it keeps in tune. I had thought about the Seagull S6 but the 1.8" nut width was a bit awkward for me. I find this guitar's 1.72" width comfortable. This Guitar has a lot of character and is a joy to play.

Great value for an acoustic/electric guitar. I traded in another brand in search of a bigger, bolder sound and I found it. This guitar has great action and a big sound for a very reasonable price. Great electonics! I came home and plugged it in and man... I have a new favorite guitar.

          from Texas

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar about 2 years ago now. I've always loved the sound, especially with some fresh strings on it. It is very playable and extremely loud, both of which I love. I'm not to fond of the electronics and this guitar is very delicate. I bought one without a finish and if you breathe on it just right you could potentially scratch it. No joke, very soft wood. Love seagulls and planning on getting another one. I will certainly give one with some kind of finish though and I recommend that everyone else does as we'll.

          This Guitar picked me!

          By Shawn

          from Milwaukee, WI

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Went to GC to upgrade my Dad's basic Yamaha that I had been using the past 4 years. My budget was about $700, so I had a lot to choose from. I noticed the sunburst style of the seagull when I got there, but went right for the Martins and the Taylors, as I never heard of this brand. The Salesman suggested I give the SGull a try, and when I did, that was all she wrote. It is so easy to play, sounds great, and great electronics. I never thought I would need the built in tuner, but it works great. I kept trying the other guitars, but this one continued to call out to me. When I found out the price, I was even more impressed. I think this guitar actually picked me, not the other way around. Been playing for a few months and it is great! Replace the strings and the factory battery and you are good to go. Oh! It looks so good too!

          Great Upgrade

          By Curtis C

          from Draper, UT

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been playing guitar for about a year. I started on a Washburn Lyon acoustic guitar from Target (Christmas present), and was shopping for an upgrade guitar when I discovered the Seagull brand. There is GC in my area so it's easy for me to drop in and spend time with a lot of different guitars in their acoustic room. Since the day I put this guitar on my lap nothing else in the room seemed to compare. At least not anything in a similar price range. It's a joy for a beginner like me to play, it sounds wonderful, and it looks great. High quality is evident in every aspect of this guitar. I'm very happy with my new guitar, and will most likely buy another Seagull in the future. Like I said, I'm not qualified to go into detail about why this is a great guitar (IMHO), I'm just saying it's definitely worth a try.
