I won't lie to you, I'm a Seagull guy. I went in looking for a great guitar at a great price, and while I was open to veer away from my coveted Seagull-made guitars if the right deal were to be available, I simply couldn't do it. I tried out a bunch of different guitars in my price range, and the Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QI(T) won, hands down. First of all, the tuning machines are basically the solid chrome Ping tuning machine heads disguised with Seagull logos. I love this because I am very picky about my tuning machines and often swap out my guitars' machine heads for said Ping parts. Next, the nut width of the neck is narrower than the standard Seagull nut width, which makes it more comparable to a Martin or Taylor or something of that nature. This makes the transition for a non-Seagull acoustic player a little smoother. Third, the action is comfortable, but not too comfortable. If the action is too low and too easy to push down, sound is compromised, this is not so here. I believe this is the softest action a guitar can have without taking away from the sound or causing buzzing or things of that nature. The Godin electronics are flawless, and sleekly designed. As in the "Rustic" name, even the electronics stay true to this look, and the style and functionality are both top of the line. This is one of the few (if not only) Seagull in this price range with a cutaway, and that is important because it allows for more flexibility and mobility on the neck for those who like to utilize every available fret on the guitar. The overall look is nice. At first, I thought the sunburst was a little too much, but after a couple hours of staring at it, I have grown to love it. Finally the most important thing about this guitar is the sound. The guitar possesses a very full, vibrant, diverse sound. There is a slight twang in the timbre, but it is not overbearing, leaving for a warm and perfect acoustic sound for almost any style or application. I do not believe a better guitar can be bought for this price, but I must point out the negative. As with my old Seagull, the wood feels rather soft, so with some ruckus playing and misguided strumming, the wood can wear away and damage the surface more easily than other guitars. This is a small price to pay for an otherwise very powerful acoustic-electric package. Besides, I like when my guitars get that worn-in look, so this is not at all a negative for me personally. I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a guitar as in such a short time; it has grown so dear to my heart.

I've had this guitar for a year now. The sound has softened some with use. Still looks great but the wood is soft and blemishes very easy. Chrome tuners are great, action is good and it hold its tuning very well. The 6E string has developed an annoying buzz somewhere in the body and the 1E string has stayed a bit twangy. Most annoying is the Q1T pickup. It sounds very washed out either through an amp or into recording equipment.

I just picked this up yesterday from the Guitar Center in Arlington Heights. After reading about Seagull guitars I wasn't sure if I believed all the hype. Everyone has their preference when it comes to sound. When I picked this guitar up I fell in love. I must have played it for a good 20 minutes already knowing I was walking out of the store with her. The action is great, the tones are simply amazing. It's easy to tell the craftsmanship put into this instrument Mike was very helpful and informative about Seagull guitars as he owns a few himself. We both can agree that these instruments sing.
I purchased this guitar about 2 years ago now. I've always loved the sound, especially with some fresh strings on it. It is very playable and extremely loud, both of which I love. I'm not to fond of the electronics and this guitar is very delicate. I bought one without a finish and if you breathe on it just right you could potentially scratch it. No joke, very soft wood. Love seagulls and planning on getting another one. I will certainly give one with some kind of finish though and I recommend that everyone else does as we'll.
Great value for an acoustic/electric guitar. I traded in another brand in search of a bigger, bolder sound and I found it. This guitar has great action and a big sound for a very reasonable price. Great electonics! I came home and plugged it in and man... I have a new favorite guitar.
I purchased this as an upgrade from the Yamaha FG700S that I began learning guitar on. I chose the Seagull because it is made in North America, sounds fantastic, really like the Cedar top's resonance. The finish is very attractive and it keeps in tune. I had thought about the Seagull S6 but the 1.8" nut width was a bit awkward for me. I find this guitar's 1.72" width comfortable. This Guitar has a lot of character and is a joy to play.
I received my Seagull Entourage Rustic today and I could not believe what a good deal I made. I have own many guitars and this definitively is the best looking and sounding guitar I have ever played. The lead guitarist of my band agrees 100% with me. This guitar is beautiful, the head of the neck it's unique in style, the finish of the guitar is spectacular! The built-in tuner works perfectly and the tuners are solid and the guitar is very easy to tune. Now the sound... just amazing. I'm feeling like I have bought a $2,000 instrument. I had to lower the action just a little bit and let the stock strings given they have a very brilliant and balanced sound. Service and shipping from Guitar Center was, as always, excellent! Shipping costs were reasonable to Puerto Rico and the shipping was fast. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.
This is an update to my previous review. I love the acoustic sound of the guitar, the looks, the unique style of the head of the neck, the semi-gloss finish. What really dissapointed me was the extremely low output of the pickup. I have another acoustic with a passive pickup that sounded louder than this when connected directly. Customer service of Godin ask me to change the battery. I did it but the output was still very low! Beware that you should get a preamp when plugging this guitar to your amp or system. With the preamp the sound is good, but you'll have to crank the volume of the guitar and the preamp to full. BTW I return it and bought a Hohner Essential Satin Finish. I'll comment on that later.
Got this for my birthday. Had to decide this seagull guitar and a breedlove with a cedar top. It took me a while but decided to go with this because it sounds better plugged in. The only downside is that there is not another strap pin. I got one install but I think this guitar is worth every penny. I love the cedar top and how deep it sounds yet how the bright sound comes through. I think it has a nice balance. The only other guitar I would think about getting is prolly the seagull s6 with the pickup but both are really nice for the price!!!
After playing my old Yamaha FG400 for years I took the plunge and decided to buy a professional instrument. Walking into the acoustic room at GC had my head spinning a bit, I tried the Seagull and haven't looked back. I'm entranced with the beautiful sound of this guitar plugged in or power free! It sounds as good as guitars priced at twice its price.
Wonderful rich sound all across the board. I have played martins, taylors, and epiphone master built but this guitar by far has the best sound of all of them not to forget the best looks too. It is the best buy for your hard earned dollar. You can go spend 1500 dollars on a guitar and still not find the tone of this gem i have been playing guitar for 13 yrs so trust me when i say WORTH EVERY PENNY
OK seriously I'm a rocker and this looks like a hillbilly guitar to me. I've had this guitar about 2 years and it get's better and better and better. This guitar will blow away guitars 3 & 4 more expensive. I set mine up with XL 12's and it sounds awesome especially with new strings. I tried coated strings but for me XL's work great. I had one small issue with the battery box and customer service wasn't very good but other than that it's the way to go.
